dirty glasses from another room left in corridor for 2 days took ages to check in and I pre-checked in for speed as prompted!! coffee machine broken for my stay, reported but nothing happened

The staff are friendly and well-meaning however, some still need help to better understand their roles, for example the server of our evening meal, took 20 minutes to come and ask for our orders and that was after she asked us to wait 15 minutes before we could even be seated. I imagine if she'd been given some training on basic expectations and customer communication, then she would have bee able to better mange the situation. Another observation is the room cleaning is sometimes patchy, particularly the cleaning the side cupboard where the coffee machine sits.

Pro’s The room was clean and comfortable Con’s 1) The pool was very cold, sauna was broken which was disappointing. 2) We parked in the North Cambridge car park as suggested by the hotel. Our car was broken into on our first night. The hotel staff could not have cared less and did not make any effort to help us whatsoever. 3) We were told just as we were about to check out that if we had booked breakfast in advance for our first and second day we would have had a discount on the second day. 4) As we sat down for breakfast a lot of the food was dry, and being taken away and not replaced. In a nutshell, clean and tidy hotel with very unhelpful/ poorly trained staff. Will not be returning.

The room was ok but not cleaned very well , we had a meal which was disappointing for the price charged , and the selection of drinks was poor and had run out of several items !!!

It is difficult to fault Novotel Cambridge North. Excellent and helpful reception staff. Check-in and Check-out very smooth. Great room. Breakfast worthwhile. While it is not in the centre of Cambridge the transport links make this easy and it is actually a pleasant walk along the river (weather dependent). I shall be back.
