There was no Martini Rossi or Ginger Wine behind the bar so my wife was unable to enjoy a drink before dinner. Chips and peas were both undercooked. The bubble& squeak was mashed potato with spinach around it. The bedroom was clean and comfortable.

Overall an average stay. The room was ok but the toilet was not at the same standard: not painted well, no ventilation. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the shower design means it’s really slippery (lots of showers don’t need a mat) and water splashes out. There’s also no full-length mirror in the room. At breakfast no one was around to mark us as being in, I had to hunt someone down. At check-out the breakfasts had not been added to the bill. I could have walked out and not paid for them, I know that others did.

We arrived early but room was ready so able to go in. Also as I was doing the 1/2 Marathon the following day I was able to have a late check out in order to get back & have shower etc at no extra cost. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choice & all the staff were very friendly & accommodating. The room was very comfortable & the bed/pillows were great. Overall excellent

The staff were all very nice. Even when I called down at 3.30am to ask for milk . As my LONG LIFE milk was so off it plopped out into my tea like yoghurt. The shower door was dirty. My mattress was stained beyond belief. I was absolutey horrified.

Stay here once a week for work. I get in late and leave early so really need a quick check in/out, a comfortable bed and a decent shower. I get all three.

I was on a 2 night overstay. I was unable to turn back off, toilet wouldn't flush, sugar was hard and snapped when I tried to open it. The bath and toilet were rectified for my second night.

Normally my stays are ok, this time there was a big party on (Sunday) I requested a quiet room, which was allocated however I was in a room that looked into hotel entrance, lots of noise and car door slamming, with engines running with loud music playing. Then lots of noise in the corridor around 1:30 am other guests obviously from the party locked out banging room doors. Disappointing really

I would just like to say that my family and I really enjoyed the stay.. Food was excellent ... both at the bar and during teh event... Just 2 comments - the bar did not seem prepared for teh event we were attending - they seemed to run out of bererage pretty quickly without quick re-supply and staff levels were low against what was needed.. In addition - teh heating in my room did not seem to work - when turned off teh room was warm enough but not comfortable.. (reported at checkout)

The price for the room was very reasonable and the room was clean and well presented. My food for the awards evening was perfectly adequate, however, the staff were somewhat disjointed when serving so with 7 people at the table the time from the 1st person receiving their food to the last was over 5 minutes. The bar in the main part of the hotel was also understaffed pre dinner, only one person serving with at least 25 guests drinking and waiting to be served. The staff were though polite and apologetic for delays in service. Overall a pleasant stay but room for improvement.
