The rooms were obviously once nice but i found that they'd been maintained poorly - carpet stains all over , marks and scuffs all over the walls, odd smells, hairs stuck in the towels. It made me afraid to touch anything. I also emailed the reception after my stay to get an invoice but never received a reply.

I did not end up staying as our exams online was cancelled last minute, But its always been a good place to stay whilst I'm at the local NHS trust, I have stayed with you on many occasions and enjoy the fact its slightly out the way of the high street and distractions, with great food and a lovely outside space in the summer.

The rooms are there as we know them .. that's it. Where are the freshly made beds? Where are the extra towels? 1 small tower for your whole stay? Where are the water cups in the bath room? Where are the note pads and pencils? Where is breakfast? Where is the bar? So, only the bed is still there (are we lucky!?)

I've stayed in room 233 between November 29 - Dec 2, 2020 and the heating was not working. I've turned the thermostat up to the highest setting of 30 yet the heat still not came on. Air con symbol was on the display screen throughout. Fortunately only recirculating the room temperature air.

I have been staying at Novotel for a number of months during the pandemic for easy access to the hospital. The hotel staff are attentive and willing to go that extra mile. The hotel is well kept, safe, and quiet to allow relaxing stays especially in this time of unrest.

We were staying under difficult circumstances and initially did not feel comfortable. Had to ask for change of duvet as it had blood stain on and though it was a non smoking room, there was a potent smoke smell when entered room. There was also someone else’s rubbish in the room bin. So initially did not feel safe and at ease. The stay was okay once last these elements, but they were very off putting. BW julie

Rude receptionist couldn’t find me on system then told me the charge was £59 when I had confirmation stating otherwise , I had to pay the £59 as she couldn’t find me on system . Then when she did find me I got no apology and the difference refunded . Then because she did not check me into the room , I got charged on my card for the original rate of room so I was charged TWICE because she was incompetent AND rude !!! Took hotel 5 days to refund my money they took NOT HAPPY !

Room had problems Some l light switches did not work. Toilet door did not close. Shower did not look like it had been rinsed after cleaning. USB charger socket did not work. Bathroom sink was blocked,(did not notice until we went to use the sink) . Requested extra pillows on the booking form and never got them, contacted reception and eventually got 1 pillow not 2 as requested.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Only thing that spoiled it was that we could not get a signal for our phones or get Wi fi for my tablet. I was given instructions how to do it but when I put my email address in, I got a warning saying the server was not secure and it was not recommended to continue. We are on the EE network. It was very disappointing. We kept getting cut off trying to make or receive calls and it went to Emergency calls only.

I stay at the hotel several times a year. Since lockdown, people are staying in rooms that are non hotel guests. They are noisy and have no regard for hotel guests. I was kept awake until 3 in the morning due to their shouting, laughing, talking. I didn't complain. as I felt that there was nothing the staff could do, and I did not want to cause a fuss at that time of morning. The staff are always friendly and helpful and previously it used to be a good experience.

The bedrooms are very clinical but comfortable. I was disappointed to have only a shower and no bath. I was very happy with the safe parking. I didn't eat or drink in the hotel apart from coffee in the bedroom.
