Shame, used to be very good going downhill due to mangement and lack of staff

The hotel was under staffed and has poor customer relations. This reuslts in them being very slow in bringing additional things to the room (we asked for a spare duvet four times before it was brought up late at night). Reception rarely answer the phone as a result of not enough staff and the restaurant staff are great but very stretched at breakfast missing tidying up and restocking as they as so short staffed. The junior staff are helpful but not supported by their senior colleagues. The management cant admit when they make a mistake or are at fault and just revert to policy. Also dont hang the sign outside your door either way round if you want your room making up. The sauna is broken regularly and has been out of action at least 1 evening the last two times weve visited, not again.

Nice hotel, well located. My only issue is the lack of customer service. The receptionist was pretty rude and it was as if she was doing us a favour. I'm extremely friendly and always polite, so I just found it odd. Coincidentally I did ring the hotel a couple of days before to ask a question and I had a very similar experience then.

BEWARE of staying at this hotel .Shocking experience , when I was going to bed I pulled back the covers only to realise that the bed had been slept in & the covers NOT changed. Absolutely disgusting, I have never experienced this before. Staff said housekeeping had gone home, fair enough, and that they would change the bed. However the lady who came upstairs, had no linen with her, she pulled the covers into the floor and said she couldn’t be sure. She had no intention of changing the bed. No alternate room was offered and I left and drove home 130 miles. Shocking and disgusting experience. The response from Nicolette Schmidt one of the lagers at the hotel “unfortunate “.- very & I won t be staying at the chain again of that’s the level of cleanliness!!!!!!!!!

The hotel was nice overall the pool was nice a couple of problems the changing rooms were freezing cold but it was good the gym was nice and easy to work out lots of machines normally people complain about staying here that saying Novotels are very bad, dirty, and awful experience. But we stayed In superior room it was okay nice and big and you could see the trains which is good. I probably would stay here again. The restaurant was good and I won £100 because I won a competition The prizes are very bad and very babyish so it’s not that good but the pasta wasn’t the best either, but overall it was good and would stay there again.

Excellent location adjacent to Cambridge North Railway Station, with a large carpark. Despite the proximity to the railway station, the hotel is very quiet. Clean, spacious, well furnished room with very comfortable bed. Fridge in the room. Nice bathroom.
