We had 1 night staying here, except for the view and the staff the place was terrible. The whole hotel is run down, bathroom had mould and paint missing. Can’t understand how it can be 4 star. I always expect a standard when staying in a Accor hotel, this time I was very disappointed.

We arrived for a one night stay before departing on a cruise. The hotel was not as described in the listing on the hotel website. The room, although relatively clean, was not inviting. Amenities mentioned on the website kettle with coffee making facilities free soft drinks were non-existent. The mini fridge was empty except for 2 bottles of water which was much appreciated . The bathroom products consisted of two tiny bars of soap, and two small shampoo bottles. The quilt had cigarette burns in it . We enquired about the shuttle service which did not exist. The pool also doesn’t exist but if we wanted to pay €10 each we could use the pool next door. Attempts to have the front desk staff address our concerns were fruitless. The « manager » was not interested in hearing about concerns and stated that the website was a little outdated . We asked if we could purchase drinks but was informed that the bar was closed. The breakfast was less than desirable, and cold, from sitting in the buffet area. Not the usual array of food provided by hotels. Having booked through qantas we expected it to be true to the information provided.It is beyond me how this hotel (it was really more like a motel) can be associated with Mercure I hope Qantas removes this hotel from its options. Needless to say, we we VERY DISAPPOINTED. Will say breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly. The view is outstanding and beautiful. We only expected what was clearly advertised on the website. I imagine we are not alone here. Did have good wifi but Would never stay again. Can imagine for the cost there is much better options available closer to ammenities.

What a beautiful place. Couldn’t feel more in Italia!!! Place is charming, comfortable and very clean. Staff super friendly, assisted me at all times. The pool is great, and you can also swim in the ocean, cristal clear water, with little fish around. I believe the previous reviews are from people which doesn’t want to emerge in the local culture when traveling. They expect to see U.S all over the world and thanks God it’s not like that. Loved the place! Will definitely come back, felt as I was in the movies! Amazing pasta and lots options on breakfast. The building keep its original tiles, windows and doors, just an art piece. Last but not least, coffee is also their great strength. Grazie Mille Civitavecchia!

Basic motel with pretty views and mosquitos

American family of four. Expected a Best Western type but this is more like a Motel 6. It was basic and relatively clean but the showers had a lot of mold. We had a beautiful view but there is a bar/club located close by and it played loud rave type music late into the evening (a Sunday). Our AC was not working so we moved from a family room to 2 triples. The AC still did not work in one of the rooms so the boys had to leave the windows open and were bit by mosquitos all night. My husband was up all night and slept worse than he did on the plane (business class). The location is beautiful, right on the water near a harbor but it is not close enough to walk to the center and a taxi was $30 for a short ride (Uber is not reliable in this area). There was no food available when we arrived other than a snack shack at the pool. A taxi was difficult to locate in the evening. Breakfast was good-barista making fresh coffees, lattes, etc-and homemade baked goods as well as bacon/eggs and deli meats and cheeses.

I thought this property add was deceiving, there is no pool (or swim up bar as advertised on another site), we thought we would have some relaxing drinks but only until about 2 2.30ish and they close. Room was ok, but I would not stay here again.
