The staff was neither friendly nor helpful. The room is not up to Mercure standards. The bed was awful, and the pillows were disgusting. The rooms are old and are from a past era. Security seemed lax, as no one was usually at the front desk. They seem to sit in the office behind the check-in area. Never once, when I came into the lobby from the outside, and you could hear the entrance door opening, did anyone come out to see who was coming into the building. I would rate this hotel worse than any Ibis Budget Hotel that I have stayed in. Perhaps Accor should use this hotel as its first Mercure Budget Hotel.

Good hotel. Good room, very good breakfast, friendly staff. Easily reached by tram 1 from Hbf./Kölner Platz to Ambrosiusplatz tram stop, 100 m. from the hotel.

I have been staying at this hotel for 8 years now and every year that passes things get better, this year was just as comfortable and caring as before. However the bar and restaurant have re-opened and the barmanager is doing an excellent job and was very engaging when i ate there. I will come again!

The furniture in the room was a bit dated, and there was no refrigerator or safe. Otherwise, everything was very good.
