We spent a lovely Christmas holiday at this resort. It’s just the right size, enough going on to keep everyone happy, but never feeling crowded. The rooms were beautiful and spotless, the pools were great, and the breakfast buffet was phenomenal. We especially loved happy hour at the beach trailer bar, and we never had trouble finding a lounger at either the pool or the beach. The complimentary kayaks were a fun bonus. It was easy to stroll to other beach restaurants or hop on a songthaew into town, and the Christmas Eve dinner event put on by the resort was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. The only downside is that the rooms aren’t really set up for a family of four. The team kindly brought in an extra bed for an additional fee, but it would be wonderful to see a true family room option with two double or queen beds. That said, we loved our pool‑access room, and the beds were very comfortable.

I booked a room for a family of 4 directly on the website. Once I arrived, I was told that I actually needed to pay an additional 1200 THB for each child (x2) - even though I had booked a room for 4.

I acknowledge that from your perspective it appeared that the extra bed charge may already have been included in the total price displayed, and I understand how this led to confusion and frustration. While the room details when booking directly do state that additional fees apply if extra bedding is required, I accept that the information may not have been clear or prominent enough. I also believe that more common sense and flexibility should have been exercised by our colleague at the time to ensure expectations were aligned and to avoid the discomfort your family experienced. For this, I sincerely apologize. Additionally, we are actively reviewing how extra bed charges and family bedding arrangements are presented during the booking journey, particularly for direct bookings, to ensure this information is clearer and more intuitive for future guests. After a 3 night trip to Bangkok, we stayed at the Grand Mercure for 10 nights in a swim up room with our girls in the adjacent room to us. I chose the hotel for its relaxing boutique feel. Our rooms, 1405 and 1406 were gorgeous. Very spacious, comfortable bed, good toiletries and best of all, the balconies with 2 comfortable sunbeds and a separate seating area. For us, they were ideally situated on the sunny side of the hotel, half way between the lobby and the beach with the breakfast restaurant less than 1 minute away. Stepping straight down into the pool with jacuzzi areas was fabulous and well worth the extra money. We tended to relax there until mid afternoon and then head to the beach for a few hours and to watch the sunset. The hotel is quiet. There is little in terms of entertainment, just some live music on a couple of evenings. The Christmas buffet was overpriced for the overall experience and it should have least have included one drink each. There was some miscommunication over our buffet dinner. Luckily we checked the previous evening otherwise we’d have turned up to find our names were not on he list! Other than that, a very pleasant stay with warm welcoming staff.

Hotel is stunning and well located on the beach, with lots of beach bars very close by. The restaurant and beach bar are reasonably priced and serve great food. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was great in terms of selection but often crowded.
