Close to everything, but needs some improvements

I stayed during an extreme heat event, and besides the first day when I got there and the room was an oven because the A/C wasn't on, it was cool the rest of my stay. I asked for a fan the first day because my room was so hot, and was just greeted with puzzled looks before being told no, they don't have fans. There were 2 paper cups in my room the day I checked in. I used those and disposed of them and they were not replaced the next day or the whole week I stayed there. I called down to the front desk to ask for more cups and was told I would have to came down to the restaurant and get them myself. I saw no paper cups there, but took 2 mugs. The next day they were gone and not replaced. This practice continued my whole stay of me having to go take 2 cups from the restaurant every day with them not replaced the next day. One day a restaurant worker "caught" me taking two cups and went off on me saying I shouldn't do that. I told them the front desk said I could and he said they shouldn't have said that. Did he expect me to drink things from my shoes? No mini-fridge in the room, so no way to keep things cold in your room. You'll be leaving for the day on tours with a bottle of hot water and waking up to a hot glass of orange juice or milk. The hotel is along two busy streets, so ask for a room not on one of those roads, ask for a room facing the back. The elevators are teeny tiny, comfortably only fitting 2 people. The rooms are kind of modern, kind of a mish mash of styles. There was even a log in mine. To build a fire? The metal chair in the room needs an upgrade. Doesn't fit in and isn't comfortable. The bathroom is the nicest part of the room. The shower was great. Rain-type showerhead with a handheld extension. The bed is big and comfortable as are the pillows. TV is big and has over 100 channels, including some in English. Even the Portuguese movie channels show the movies in English with Portuguese subtitles. Staff was so so, most friendly, most spoke English...except the woman in the restaurant who is supposed to ask you your room number before you are allowed to eat breakfast, yet she neither spoke English nor understood it. Might wanna use a different person for that job. Most of the guests are foreign tourists who don't speak Portuguese and use English as a bridge language. Overall, the hotel is in the heart of the city and is a good value for your money, but could use some upgrades such a mini fridges.

Very clean - but everything else could be better !

Me and my partner came here for a 5 night stay for our anniversary, we had requested a balcony room but when we got there they didn't have any left. The staff at reception are friendly enough, although we were not offered anything in place of the room we had requested. Positives - great location to get around, thr transport in lisbon goes everywhere. It's about a 25 minute bus journey from the airport and the stop is about 1 minute from the hotel, you can get a 744 or 783 bus. It's a very clean hotel, and the cleaners cleaned our room every day to perfection. We had a room on the 8th floor, and the windows open lovely and wide. The room was very big, very comfy bed and a brilliant shower. The free WiFi is very good and the tv has a couple of good English movie channels. Negatives - it's difficult to get anything local after around 11pm, no 24 hour shops and there is no 24 hour drink or food service at the hotel, so make sure you have drinks/ nibbles for your room. The bar we only visited once as its quite pricey compared to local prices for drinks. We didn't eat breakfast here as there are lots of places local to pick up breakfast. For a hot country we were surprised there was no fridge in the room so everything went warm very quickly. The room on colder evenings can get quite chilli and there is great air con (which is a plus on hot days) but there is no heating facility during summer. Overall, the hotel did the justice for our trip, It was comfortable and clean and a good location - but just some little touches would make it alot better !

A nice stay in Lisbon

This was our third and final stop on a trip to Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon. We stayed in Ibis hotels at each stop. Positives: Located in a safe, clean area of Lisbon. Lots of high-end shopping nearby. The Parque Metro Station on the Azul Line was probably a 3-4 min walk from the hotel. The room was quite large and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was also very large and the shower had good pressure and temperature. Plenty of space for luggage. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly. Negatives; Of the three Ibis hotels we stayed at on this trip, this was the worst breakfast. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible. It just didn't live up to what we had experienced in Madrid and Barcelona. Also, the room was a little stuffy. They hadn't turned on the A/C yet for the year and the room never got as cool as I would like it to be. I would stay here again if I visited Lisbon. The location of hotel/quality of the room was fair for the money paid.

Can't sleep/rest well in this hotel.

This is our 2nd time returning to this hotel but never again. The safe in the room not working upon check in. Informed the reception and they said will sent someone to fix it. When we return to the room on the 1st night the safe is still not fix. It's locked by the previous guest. Then we inform the reception again on the 2nd day and it's still not fix when we get back to the hotel in the evening. So we gave up. The hotel has no A/C and only blowing very hot air into the small room. The small room can be easily turned into a sauna. We paid more to have a room with a balcony as we had a big balcony from our previous stay and this time it's a super small balcony that fits almost only 1 person. So disappointed with this hotel and will never return again.

Great location and really friendly staff.

I stayed here for 3 nights, it was my 3rd visit to this hotel. I liked the way that masks are needed in the hotel in all areas and people actually wore them. This is the case throughout the whole of Lisbon in indoors areas and I loved it. I really like the location, which is about 300 metres downhill from Parque metro station. It is also about 400 metres from the Marques de Pombal metro station. The reception is small and was often crowded but the staff were friendly and efficient. I was in my room in no time and it was a nice and well equipped room. I had a number of issues with the lifts in this hotel and each morning I was left waiting for ages. One of the lifts was switched off on level 7 each morning, which didn’t help with the crowding. The other irritation in this hotel was the fact the ALL drinks voucher allowed much less choice of drinks that most other Accor properties I’ve been in. It only allowed either soft drinks or a small (very) beer. No wine, which I was not impressed with. For these two issues I’ve knocked off 2 stars. Overall, a nice hotel that is in a great location with some lovely staff but which needs some work to improve service.
