No alcohol hotel

The hotel is not as advertised & most definitely not 5 stars! No alcohol is served at the hotel & the cost of none alcoholic drinks is extortionate. The hotel do not clearly state they do not serve alcohol as this is only written in the legal section. There is simply nothing about this hotel other than the smiling staff that I’d recommend. The retreat part of the hotel, I’m not sure how this is a concept as to me it’s just a basic hotel with no atmosphere. £6 for a small Americano coffee which I presume is charged at a premium due to the location & to make money as no alcohol.

We had a lovely stay at The Retreat by Sofitel. The staff were all wonderful, but Karan at the concierge really stood out. He went above and beyond for us every single time, no matter what we needed, he made it happen with such kindness and initiative. It was always a pleasure entering the hotel and being greeted with his beaming smile! We were shocked to learn he’d only been in Dubai for three months because he was so knowledgeable and helpful! The pool area was beautiful and always spotless, we can tell the staff really cared about their job and maintained it so well! We also loved the thoughtful touches like the cute wellness bracelets. The only small downside was the construction outside our sea-view room, but everything else was excellent. We left feeling so relaxed and cared for, and we truly want to thank Karan for making our stay extra special.
