Very disappointing - called a beach resort, the oil spill made the sea and beach unusable. No resort - nothing in walking distance. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, food was at best 3 star, all the same, most geared to the Russian visitors. No variety. Not really an all inclusive hotel - after 10pm everything had to be paid for. We booked for nine nights - three of those nights our room was not cleaned. We vacated our room at 8am every morning- so no excuse for maids not to come in. So then had to wait for cleaners at 6pm when we were wanting a shower and to get ready for dinner. Having to queue most meal times behind lots of other people is hardly representative of a 5 Star hotel. No waiters round the adults pool area either - once again we had to queue for drinks- not what we are used to in Emirates 5 Star. An allowance was given for eating in the other eating places - The Copper Lobster - food pretty good but expensive and they even charged for water. Our seafood platter cost £150. Lava was good but only open til 6. Pool bar - food just poolside food, many drunken loud Russians who the staff seemed reluctant to speak to, uncomfortable for others. You had to get up by 6am to be able to reserve a sunbed by the adult pool - never enough. Distance from Dubai airport was two hours not the one and a half hours we were advised. Area around the hotel is rundown . The good points - rooms were spacious, bed and bedding comfortable. The adult only pool was our saviour - without this I think, like some others, we would have checked out. We spent our whole holiday in that small area - and thankfully the “no children” rule was strongly adhered to. Staff at this hotel were great, friendly, really tried to help and put things right. Special mention for Karuna - always a friendly smile. We have spent the last 20 years holidaying in the Emirates- Fujairah was the one emirate we hadn’t tried - we will not be returning. We have stayed at other Fairmont Hotels - this one is definitely not up to the normal standard . Really, really sorry. Disappointment doesn’t cover it.

Stayed here for a week with my wife and two teenage daughters, the first thing you must be aware of is the distance from the airport approx 1hr 40 mins this is not the hotels fault and just to make you aware this has not affected me overall score. We have stayed in Dubai many times and this hotel didn’t quite cut it, we only booked it on price as it was a quick week away and the reviews were excellent, the reviews I think are questionable, the hotel is clean well run and has everything you need but what you need to be aware of is that there is only really a buffet restaurant that serves the same thing everyday for lunch and dinner and is basic, the chef is good and will try and accommodate you if you ask. There is a small sports bar (shows no premier league football and over 21’s only) that serves a basic bar menu and you get an allowance of your bill 100dms per person per day the same as the restaurant copper lobster, in the copper lobster you do NOT get your all inclusive drinks included. This brings me to the all inclusive, the drinks are basic and I mean basic no Prosecco my wife was fuming! soft drinks are served from large plastic bottles which are flat the moment they hit the glass, beer is served in cans! no draught lager included surely it’s cost effective to serve draft rather than cans? The spirits are limited unheard of brands but we’re ok. The all inclusive drinks stop at 10pm. The staff are great and all work hard. There are two separate swimming pools one is for the kids avoid if your adults only it’s carnage the other is adults only and the lifeguard is on top of this. Did we enjoy it yes as we met some great people would we go back absolutely not.

It is such a beautiful hotel and the service is just fantastic everyone tries to work everything out! The pool is very big and there also is a pool for people over the age of 18! You can go to the beach and drink something at the pool bar or at the 4 restaurants. Wonderful place for children

Fantastic hotel, loads for the whole family to do, wonderful food-animation team were great with the kids (amazing Halloween activities and evening entertainment especially) pools and beach brilliant. We all had a fabulous holiday and were really well looked after.
