Fairmont standards of transparency and accountability. Compensation offered after a service failure was never honored in practice, remaining vague, non-binding, and indefinitely “subject to availability.” Premium travelers and organizers of private or closed groups should proceed with caution. I am posting this review to ensure future guests have a clear and realistic understanding of how service issues are handled at this property. Following a significant service failure, the hotel proposed compensation that appeared appropriate on paper: a complimentary overnight stay, an upgraded room, and a food & beverage credit, with stated flexibility regarding dates. In practice, no concrete dates, conditions, or commitments were ever confirmed. Despite prolonged correspondence, every attempt to finalize the arrangement was met with the same vague response — that reservations would be “subject to availability.” This wording effectively allows the hotel to decline indefinitely while maintaining the appearance that the matter has been resolved. The offer was revised multiple times and presented as an improvement, yet it remained entirely one-sided, non-binding, and devoid of accountability. Communication throughout was polite, but consistently evasive and non-committal. Such an approach may be acceptable in a mid-range hotel. It is entirely unacceptable for a property operating under the Fairmont brand and highlights a concerning gap between brand promise and actual practice. Mariya Brzhustovsky

Beautiful resort. Amazing staff. Great amenities for many different activities and adventures. Also rooms are great very clean and accommodating. Close enough to San Diego downtown to enjoy. But also very secluded in the hills of Del Mar
