Beautiful environment, interiors and spacious. Staff was friendly. IRD was great. Food was pretty good, except for the one time the salad wasn't washed. There was sand and small bugs. Golf course staff was excellent as well. Excellent driving range and well kept track.

This was our first experience on the Grand Del Mar property. We purchased a golf and hotel stay package for 2 days and 1 night. Each employee, amenity and dining/bar/ pool/golf experience met the high standards we expected to receive, particularly during the pandemic restrictions. *Not enough space in the employee recognition section to recognize your fabulous employees by department. A number of problems. We were told the lunch area was closed when it was still open. The food - drinks we ordered was inaccurate. The bill was too high. We were told a Number of times there was no room for us for Easter brunch. Last minute we were told ok. There were many spaces available. The golf was lousy. There were three people playing in front of us in one cart. It took over 3.5 hrs to finish nine holes. We gave up. The course condition was lousy.

Saturday night I tried to use the adults jacuzzi and there was a naked man there which I reported right away. I made reservations for outdoor cabana dinner way in advance , they didn’t accommodate me. Very dissatisfied with the hotel.

Overall, my family had a nice experience at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar. My children were so happy to receive the nice welcome gift of warm cookies upon delivery. The front desk staff, housekeeping, bell service, and room service all provided wonderful service. However, we visited the pool many times during our visit, and had very disappointing service each time. On only one occasion were we offered towels for our lounge chairs and use. We ordered drinks and had to wait for an extended amount of time. The pool waitstaff seemed to be under-trained. We were hoping for better service. In addition, we also visited the evening cabanas. We also received disappointing service here as well. We loved our overall experience, but look forward to more consistent service next time.

The rooms were very nicely appointed but the beds were uncomfortable. The food was mediocre, and at this price point i would have expected exceptional food. Prices are high even by resort standards; $15 for a side bowl of fruit, $32 for a charcuterie board with two pieces of cheese and head cheese as one of the meats, which few people like. The margarita pizza was a frozen cheese pizza, not a traditional margarita. I was too reluctant to order an entree based on the disappointing appetizers. The “kids eat free” Promotion isnt well explained so you think your kids’ meals will be free but you end up being charged because you sat in the wrong place. The menu is incredibly limited as well. I wouldnt return to the property

I took my boss on a golf trip with under par for his 50th birthday. When I arrived we checked in and the wrong room was written on my card holder. When we got down there and they were cleaning that room and it had one king bed. We asked for 2 queens. When we called up we were in wrong room (different room written down). Once we got settled we came to room, we left and came back a few times. 2 of the times we got down to the room and the key did not work. So went back up and they got me a new room key. This happened twice. Then we were scheduled for a Friday 9 am tee time. We got there early to hit balls and we were told our tee time was at 9:30 am. I pulled up the email to show them our tee time was 9. They were scrambling but eventually got us out a little past 9. All that to say when I booked this I new this would be top notch two days to give my boss a great 2 days. We enjoyed the golf, but for me personally it did not live up to what I wanted to give him. You have great staff, nice people but little details fell through this weekend.

Had a fantastic stay. Hotel and grounds are beautiful. I appreciate the fact that this place does not nickel and dime you. Tennis courts are free, free waters everywhere. I wish the room service menu had more variety as well as the poolside menu. The menu may have been more limited to due to covid but more variety would be welcomed. Service was great.

Heaven! Sean the manager was kind, very accommodating. Juan--over engineering was kind and helpful. Our every request was met quickly and kindly from everyone! My wife and I honestly feel that life is at it's best when we stay at the Fairmont Del Mar Grand. This is our 3rd or 4th time. We hardly want to leave for dinner because we love the room and grounds. We've stayed at Pelican Hill and a few other nice places in CA. We will continue our highly anticipated trips to this resort!

We stayed only 1 night as a stopover for our golf vacation. Everything was just wonderful: kudos to the valet staff, reception and the golf staff. We want to call out the exceptional professionalism and friendliness of our caddie, Walter. We truly wished we could stay longer and will definitely come back for another lengthily stay.

We wanted a relaxing vacation at a beautiful resort that also had appropriate Covid protocols in place. The Fairmont Grand Del Mar exceeded all of our expectations. We had one of their "basic" rooms, and even this room was much larger than most hotel rooms. It would probably qualify as a junior suite at other hotels. It was filled with luxurious details and touches, such as extra bath towels and an in-room espresso maker that made delicious coffee. The entire facility had many Covid safety protocols in place and we felt very comfortable. The entire staff was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming.
