We have stayed at this property several times in the past. The valet employees and front desk employees are all very friendly. The rooms are exactly the same as we remember for all these many years. It is probably good to plan on a refresh of the rooms in the near future. We appreciated having the self park option in the past, but now it is a mandatory $70 per night for valet service with no self parking option made available. This is a bit steep and should be looked at again for a less expensive option for guests. There were a few issues with the pool area and housekeeping with our room, but Diana made us feel that they were addressed to our satisfaction.

Our first time at the property. It was beautiful but the rooms need a lot of upgrades. It smelled very musty and just felt damp the entire stay. The service was also not the best, we had to call to follow up on requests because we thought they forgot about us. Other than the room, the pool and restaurants were great.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is warm and helpful. Disappointed in the ratio of staff to guests. The staff was amazing and it wasn't their fault at all. This is a management issue or above. At the nightly rates you charge, there is no reason the line for the front desk should be 6 people deep. The service at the adult pool was slow (only 2 people working it), empty cups were left pool side all day long, towels ran out and were slow to re-stock. Again, not because staff wasn't working hard, but because you guys had the facility understaffed. I was there for a group event and thus had a discounted rate, but had I paid full price for the venue, I would have been hugely disappointed. As it was, I spent $1700 for 3 nights and was underwhelmed.

We had a lovely time at your property. There were a couple things to address. When we ran oir shower there was an offensive almost like rotten egg or sewer smell emitting from the drain. It was pretty strong so definitely needs to be checked out before your next guest. Also.. your mgmt should definitely address the fact that cigars are allowed on that patio on directly off the lounge on the main floor. On 2 evenings we had to move due to an oblivious gentleman lighting up a fat, stinky cigar out there. It is not a large enough area and the smoke just limgers about makimg the experience unpleasant for everyone. What happened to the 25 ft rule from the fromt door? We could even smell it inside once we moved in. Please change this policy.
Beautiful resort in San Diego with old world glamour in a bucolic, restorative setting. Lots of outdoor activities for nature lovers but equally appealing to anyone looking to relax by a pool in a pristine setting. Having 3 large pools was a huge plus. There were other kids to play with at the pool but the overall ambiance was never loud or rowdy. The staff was absolutely stellar. Always accommodating and helpful. Five stars for the staff! The lobby, reading rooms, coffee shop, pool area and bar were all well appointed.
The suite we stayed in was very large and spacious with ample bedroom and bathroom space -- the bathtubs and showers were all in working order, clean, and large. Some of the furniture needed reupholstering (for example the sofa bed in the living room was tattering), and we would have liked a more comfortable living room chair situation. (Neither the sofa bed nor the two side chairs were pleasant to sit on.) The balcony view was beautiful but there was no lighting so we couldn't read there at night. Lastly there was a strong mildewy smell in our suite which we got used to after a while, but it was indeed noticeable.
The only negative I would say that is that the suite we stayed in could have used a little refresh given the cost. We would have appreciated if the racquet courts or some of the kid experiences were offered at a reduced fee (or included) for guests, such as the babysitting club and pony rides, but these were at an additional fee.
Overall, we had a lovely time at the resort with our kids and would return. The property/grounds are pristine.

The room and bathroom were spacious and beautifully furnished. It was cleaned twice and the room attendants did an excellent job. However, we were disappointed that self parking was not an option and were not informed of activities available to us or at least gave us a list of recreational events that’s happening on our stay. We were also promised to text us when the room is ready but front desk never did.

Came for a staycation from Coronado. Room was excellent, loved the pool side location with own patio. DID NOT like how high the Bed was. My wife is 5'8". It was difficult for her to get on the bed. The hotel does not have any small step platforms available for people that might have difficulty with high beds. Also felt the food, overall was below expectations, especially considering the price, though service all around in all departments was excellent.
