Hotel chosen as it was close for a family wedding. Problems from beginning of stay. Room booked not available (one bedroom apartment). Substitute cleanliness poor with door security problems. When room changed to booked apartment there was a pigeon nesting with young right outside front door and dive bombing exit. Moved again to ordinary room which was inadequate for our requirements and curtailed our booking by coming home after the wedding instead of staying another night. The Managers Jonny and Dale did their very best as did Sharon Wood the Operations Manager to sort out the problems. Sharon had only been in the position for 3 weeks. The hotel was very shabby and had a very uncared for appearance. Whilst the new part of the hotel and Walton Hall is showed on the website they do not show the outside of many of the older buildings which are in a poor state of repair and where the apartments are located.

Lovely site, need to focus on the detail

Stayed in the hall for a couple of nights and was a lovely site to do so. Need to pay attention to the detail though as there was thick dust in clearly visible public areas and within the room there were bits that had clearly been overlooked. Some of the furnishings are a little worn out as well. The restaurant was ok but nothing special, the pricing structure is odd that you choose how many courses you want and the price reflects that I.e. a basic pasta dish is the same cost as a lamb rump. Service was a little disorganised as well. Swimming pool was clean and easy to access. I got a good deal for the room so am satisfied but attention to detail is required and it has huge potential.

Nice Short Break

This was a nice pleasant 3-night break for my wife and me, helped by the beautiful weather. The timing of our stay coincided with the date for the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions lifted, so it was a bit strange for us and the staff but all was handled by the hotel brilliantly. Apart from the disappointment of the onsite restaurant food quality and extortionate cost, on our first night, I would have said it was a 10 out of 10 and the fact they forgot the free bottle of wine for paying for the room upgrade

Pleasant one night stay, but disappointing evening meal.

Once again a pleasant and comfortable stay in this hotel, with good use made of leisure facilities.Shame that Covid protocols had been relaxed and that many staff and guests alike had stopped distancing/wearing masks/etc.,although I appreciate that since 19/7 this is allowed. Only disappointment was the evening meal which failed to match those on previous stays-both the chicken and vegetables being dry and I suspect over-kept in warming cabinets.Breakfast good as ever.

Beautiful grounds and location

A nice comfortable room that had all we needed for our stay. Everything inside the room was clean and in very good condition. All the staff were friendly and provided good service. Walton Hall itself was a beautiful old building and the hotel grounds were beautiful for an early morning stroll. The newer part we stayed in was not as attractive from the outside but every room had either a terrace or a balcony which is very rare in a UK hotel. We enjoyed being able to have a swim during our stay. We would definitely stay again. Warwick, Leamington Spa and Stratford on Avon were a short drive away.

The food and standards were good but the service was slow probably due to staff shortages owing to the pandemic. Otherwise we had a lovely time and would be pleased to return.

We decided to take a two day break, the grounds are impressive as is Walton Hall the actual building. We paid extra to stay in the Main Historical Hall. In my view well worth it.

Extremely satisfied with our stay at Walton Hall

My husband and I stayed at the Walton Hall Hotel 13-16 July 2021 using a TravelZoo Voucher. Our stay was lovely, the room was as requested on the ground floor and very nice indeed, all nice and clean and comfortable. All the staff were very attentive and any enquiries were dealt with swiftly and politely. Whilst the evening menu was a little limited, we would have liked a salad, the quality and presentation of the food was excellent, along with the service of the meal. We were delighted with the hotel, its location, staff service and amenities. We shall definitely go back.

This is the second time we have stayed and it was ok but we did have a few problems with the room The room was not as clean as we would have liked the towels we had to ask to be replaced as they were used there was no plug for the bath we ask for one it never arrived just some small problems. A note for the manager the eyes and ears of the problems with the rooms are the cleaners give them a report list to be given to management after they have been in the rooms that can then be actioned and delt with just a suggestion.

Linda Couples - 22/07/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

When I checked in I was given a room looking at a wall. It was not a Privilege room which I had booked. I had also emailed the hotel in advance saying how claustrophobic I was. The gentleman did find me a privilege room in the end and was very understanding. He was the only member of staff that was welcoming and friendly. We had booked dinner for 7.30pm and asked to get a drink and would lay a table for us. I ordered a large gin and tonic and couldn’t believe they would put tonic in from a pump instead of a bottle. To make matters worse our table was given to 2 young ladies that were a long while after us. I skied for cranberry sauce with my turkey no one came back to say they hadn’t got any. Breakfast was embarrassing my husband went up to get his and my breakfast but they implied he was trying to get extra as they were limiting how much you could have. I had to wave to acknowledge that the breakfast was for me. The swimming pool was the best thing and the grounds. It is a shame no air con in the rooms. I feel the hotel needs a revamp and welcoming staff. I was looking forward to staying at the hotel but was very disappointed.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting. The staff were very friendly. The room and food were great and we had a wonderful relaxed stay in beautiful surroundings. We went swimming in the indoor pool which was lovely. All in all a wonderful break and would come back again.

Ovetall it was good. The cooked breakfast on day one was cool and had been out too long, not pleasant. The second day my husband said it was fine as it had just been put out but because of the first day I only had fruit and toast. The evening meal was nice (beef). The room in the main old building was fine and nice and big.
