We had three rooms as celebrating a night away for a belated 21st birthday 6 of us. Checked in. It was clear there was a big party going on. Booked table for restaurant was told that 7 had gone so opted for 7:30. Went in only 3-4 tables with customers seated. Ordered appetisers, drinks, started and main course. 45 mins later no drinks no appetisers. Asked where the drinks and appetisers were, told they had a big function going on and they would do them asap. Then 5mins our drinks arrived along with our appetisers and starters, all together. Ordered a plain burger stack, when it came has burger sauce in it and pickles. Asked for a plain burger bun so we could put burgers in to get a plain burger, the bun never arrived. Was overcharged by £15 on receipt of Bill, as had the dinner bed breakfast option. Rooms were ok, our bathroom mirror light didn't work, very unlit bedrooms, hard to see to do makeup etc. Shame as we had paid alot of money fir three rooms but left dissapointed.

Decided to take a midweek stay at the hotel and was extremely quiet, which was perfect. The deal on Groupon included a welcome drink, dinner and breakfast. Not forgetting spa access. The free drink could either be a beer or glass of wine. At the bar during the stay was Brian and Danny, with were professional, funny and knowledgeable whilst serving. Brian was hilarious whilst he relived his favourite drink and it's effects. The room was clean and ignore other people's comments about them being outdated. The bed was comfortable and the shower/ toilets in room 217 were working fine. The view of the room was perfect and the room was the perfect temperature. During dinner service , Louise was very attentive. The lamb was perfectly cooked and would recommend it. The breakfast had plenty of selection and the waiters were more than happy to top up the buffet food. Other great features of the hotel was the brands hatch bar which opened around 5pm. Great photos and memorabilia of racing events/ legends who had use the sports track. The cost of drinks at either of the bars were very reasonable. The late check out ( 1 pm) on the deal was welcomed. The only downside was the pool was being used for a adult excercise lesson between 10-11am. All of the spa equipment was working which included a jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms. The car park is very spacious and the staff were the real bonus of the stay.

We have stayed here several times without issues, but this time, the hotel itself was ok , but the restaurant was poor, on arrival we ordered some sandwiches from the bar and they took 45 minutes to arrive after asking twice about them, , that evening, we waited an hour for our dinner and it was such poor quality we couldn't finish it, the chicken in the curry was so over cooked it was horrible, we did complain and in all fairness it did get knocked off the bill, breakfast was nice apart from the staff was not keeping in top of the tables and people were just taking cutlery and cups of other tables and the staff were not replacing them, I feel the restaurant staff need more training, so hence we never ate again in the restaurant for dinner any more, just breakfast as it was pre paid for
