My stay was during the Liverpool tier 3 restrictions. The following morning England entered a four week lockdown. My reason for the stay was that I had a hospital appointment at 09:00 that morning. I live in Anglesey and cannot arrive by public transport hence the overnight stay. The planning at the hotel for the restrictions due to COVID-19 were well thought out and easy to follow. I had eaten an evening meal before I left home but breakfast arrangements were good. The social distancing was obviousIt was clear. The vegetarian breakfast was enjoyable and freshly made.

Checking in went very smooth got to room and there was a small problem went to reception to ask for maintenance and instantly got given a new room and upgrade really was appreciated. Our stay was amazing covid changes were handled very well we felt very safe will def be back

Our stay was for one night, bought by family to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Although our stay was lovely, it was overshadowed by the Covid 19 rules and regulations, so we didn't feel we had the full experience of this lovely hotel. Bar and restaurant not open. Only facility was in fact the room and having to collect our breakfast and take it back to the room.

Enjoyed our stay was missed informed at reception, didn't realise hotel had car park was told car park was round corner costing us £3 extra a night .

Perfect location with the best views on the liver building and Mersey. The staff were lovely especially Kerry who was so helpful. This is the second time we have visited the property and it certainly won't be the last.

a perfect hotel for us , straight out the tunnel staff were very helpful and friendly and my girlfriend absolutely loved our room with a view of the liver building. 10 min walk to liverpool one. We will stay again

Got a superior room on a Travelzoo offer - very pleased. Great view of the Liver Building. Toilet cistern constantly flushing & still played up after having been “fixed”. Noisy neighbours (2 Liverpudlians, 2 Scots in same room On the last night before Liverpool was locked down) who stopped Partying when we finally called reception at 12.30. Breakfast was really badly arranged in Covid times. We had stayed in the Village Hotel in Chester the previous 2 nights & they had done a fried breakfast on a tray to the table along with served drinks & toast. At Mercure the fried breakfast was served, everything else was a free-for-all. There were circles on the floor where guests were supposed to stand & wait (clearly nobody did) & as my partner is high risk, I wouldn’t let him leave the table & I had to queue for everything - appalling & dangerous. We were given a room upgrade upon arrival which we were over the moon with. The room bed and bathroom were an amazing size and very good value for money. Would definitely stay in another Mercure hotel. Location was suitable for all our needs and quiet on a night time.

We came to Liverpool for my friends birthday, on the booking I was promised a room upgrade, when we arrived at the hotel we were told as it was a twin room there was no upgrade available. On the early hours of Saturday morning about 1.30 there was a very noisy group outside our room that woke us up. When we went down for breakfast we were shown where to get coffee and cereal and juice, the lady asked us if we wanted a full english breakfast we asked if we could have eggs on toast and was told no it was a full English or nothing, we declined. While we were eating our breakfast pastries the lady then came over to us and said she needed our table as we were only allowed 30 minutes to eat. You can not expect guests to get their coffee and juice and eat cereal and a full English in 30 minutes and I have never been in a hotel before where they do. Once again in the early hours of Sunday morning we were woken by the same noisy people, I actually rang down to reception and left the phone ringing for about 5 minutes and nobody answered the phone!!!! When we were checking out we were asked our number and told to put or dirty key card in the box, we were not asked about our stay or anything. Customer care was non existent.
