We only arrived late and stayed one night before heading to the desert, but our short stay was so enjoyable, I would have liked to have stayed there longer!

A good, reasonable stay at the IBIS hotel

We stayed at the IBIS hotel in Ulaanbaatar twice, two weeks apart, on each end of a trip to South Korea. The hotel is well located for getting to and from the airport without encountering too much traffic (it took about 40 min each way, which I hear is pretty good for UB). The hotel was very clean, and the food was good. The facilities were ok, except the sauna room was locked and dark despite the hotel saying it should be open. (I am sure had we asked they would have opened it). The WiFi was . . . sporadic at best, though in fairness we were never able to find good WiFi in Ulaanbaatar. I'm knocking the rating down to four stars because the hotel offered us a free drink if we wrote a review. We didn't take them up on that offer (this review is wholly voluntary) but I think it's important to note that others' reviews may not be as honest.

Staff super friendly and welcoming. Sauna is a great feature and the gym has everything needed for a decent workout. Room is comfortable and clean. My only gripe is you need to improve the toilet paper quality, it’s a real let down of the hotel. 1 ply and as good as plastic.
