a disappointing start to my staycation when i was told at the counter "you have booked via OTA so you are not entitled to member benefits..." before the lady could go on, i had to interrupt her and point out that i have booked via accor's website. which she then came back out again, this time claiming rooms are already fully booked so they can't offer me an upgrade unless i top up to take the Imperial Suite. days before my check-in date, i had been trying to contact the hotel, both via email and hotline. till date i still did not get any response for my query and hotline is hard to get through. so i get this feeling that all along my booking was treated as an OTA so an upgrade was not on the cards for me. i had wanted to also ask if my daughter is included in the full board package otherwise, i could top up. i must have missed the details during the booking. had they been more contactable, i would have been able to ask about the upgrade availability and not over the counter asking me to decide whether to pay for the Imperial/Presidential Suite. during my stay, i learnt that the best time to call frontdesk is when its late into the night, to disturb the poor staff on night shift. but only that way, i don't have to dial 0 a couple of times before my call was picked up. it was my wedding anniversary week and my wife's actual birthday. it wasn't a pleasant staycation experience.

As usual (3rd time we stay) great atmosphere It was however noted that the soap, shampoo brand was changed for a lower quality this time. This is cheap cost reduction, highly visible for used client. Soap is as good as in any cheap hotel. To be reviewed.

Great facilities, beautiful resort. Bad: cannot order food at all before 12pm at pool or any restaurant. They said cannot ala carte at any place. was very hungry and room telephone did not work for room service. Tried calling outside line but phone didn’t picked up after 6 times. Main line always engaged. Waited for check in process the line was over 15 metres long. Staff slow and reception desk don’t care about the long lines. Said they will call us when room available but never did. Ended up getting room after 4pm even though arrived much earlier.

Sofitel Sentosa is simply not to the standard of other Sofitel in other countries. Poor service to customer who is only regarded as money spender. Room and SPA very old, not well maintained and not clean.

Overall great place to stay. For improvements: -Very slow check-in. Check-in time (3-5pm) is already late relative to other hotels. However, don't expect to check-in immediately after you arrived. I waited 2 HOURS (2:30 to 4:30 pm) for them to prepare my room. -Only one wifi available (public to everyone). This is slow and unreliable.

Everything from the timing of the shuttle bus to check in was ok. However upon reaching my room, i found a pile of dishes from someone’s in room dining which does not make the best first impression. Room was well decorated however upon closer look, there are obvious signs of wear and tear too.

I would to compliment the one that is doing the phone ‘one touch’ service, as she is diligent and understanding to cater for our needs. Maybe is under the furkid retreat room so the view from the balcony nothing much. Dinner and Breakfast buffet is really good with wide variety. Thanks again for the services as my in law need wheelchair and its given to us for our stay. The service here is better then Sofitel City Center and Rasa Shangri’la that we went last time. Pleasant stay

The hotel grounds were pleasant with little ponds here and there, giving guests ample room to roam around. The rooms are a tad aged but still comfortable. One of our rooms did not have any lounge chairs while the other room's coffee machine was not working sadly. Thankfully, the teas provided were a nice touch as the selection is from TWG. Housekeeping service was very efficient and prompt! We opted for the full-board package with additional top ups for dinner at The Cliff if desired. The buffer dinner line up were adequate but could have been better with even more options. Kwee Zeen's nuggets are a crowd favorite. Do note that connecting rooms are only guaranteed under certain room rates so be sure to clarify that before booking. The pre-stay survey was a little confusing as I could not book the hotel facilities for the period of my stay (reflected as fully booked) and had to call the hotel to clarify. In the end, I could only book upon check in....

Good Facilities, Service in Wanting

I was truly looking forward to my stay with Sofitel Sentosa. It was a birthday treat for myself and my partner. I chose Sofitel for its pristine facilities and 5 star rating, hoping to experience stellar service. However, interactions with staff left me in want. The service standards observed by the staff were not in line with a 5 Star hotel and resort. The hotel appears to be understaffed as well. Every call to the front desk took more than a couple of minutes to be answered and there were frequent lines at check in. The concierge service also fell short of expectations when they gave me inaccurate information regarding opening hours of attractions in Sentosa. Having been told that a particular attraction was closed for the day, my partner and I roamed aimlessly around Sentosa, only to walk past the said attraction and to note that it was indeed open. This was an unacceptable lapse in concierge standards. Guests must be able to trust concierge services, failures like this throw the hotel into disrepute. Separately the room I stayed in also had shortcomings, with stained wine glasses and the presence of a fly (that essentially lived with us for the 3 days we were there). When I raised the issues to the Manager, their service recovery was not immediate. Eventually he gave a drink voucher for 2 non alcoholic drinks. I felt this was also a lapse in service recovery. There were a couple of other incidents during my stay that made me realise the the service standards of this hotel is in much need of a review, but I shall not lengthen this review any further. Notwithstanding the poor service, I must compliment the excellent meals both breakfast and their restaurant. The dining experience is rather impeccable. The pool is beautiful. Overall, I want to return back to Sofitel and to provide them an opportunity to redeem themselves. Hope things get better.

Worse staycation

A disappointment especially for a “luxury” hotel like Sofitel. This is the worse hotel stay I had, ever. From having to find out yourself where your room is, to the lack of communication between teams, bedroom cleanliness, and customer service. If you are on a specific diet like plant based/vegan I wouldn’t recommend it either. I made an error in choosing full board and paid a high price for it. Never again.
