Room 536 The tv turned on by itself twice The lights turned on once Haunted? Not sure The common areas are not well lit. Fell down near the foyer and injured my arm and back. Really expect more from Sofitel

My wife, our 2 granddaughters and I have a wonderful stayed for our 40th anniversary celebration from 12-17 December. Have been staying and dine here more than 30th years. The management and ambassadors have carried out utmost and fantastic caring, warmth and services. No words can express our gratitude. Highly recommended the resort for all. Overall, the stay was disappointing and fell well below expectations, especially when compared with my experiences at IHG and World of Hyatt properties. The arrival experience lacked warmth and professionalism—I was neither acknowledged nor welcomed, which was immediately noticeable. In contrast, other hotel groups consistently recognise and thank their guests, setting a far better first impression. The suite itself was also underwhelming. Apart from the bedroom, the absence of windows made the room feel dark and uninviting, significantly affecting the overall comfort and atmosphere of the stay. Dining at Kwee Zeen further added to the disappointment. The bak kut teh, a well-known Singapore staple that should be reliably executed, was bland and lacked depth of flavour. Frankly, even casual bak kut teh outlets in Balestier deliver a far superior experience. Considering the premium price paid for a suite, the overall experience felt poor value for money and overpriced. What made this even more frustrating was that this was my very first stay with the Accor group, coupled with the fact that I had also paid for a membership. This experience does not reflect the level of quality or recognition one would expect, especially as a new member. It is often said that first impressions matter, and this stay has unfortunately left me questioning whether this level of experience is consistent across the Accor portfolio and whether maintaining this membership is worthwhile. I sincerely hope Accor will take note and benchmark against the service standards set by other leading hotel groups mentioned above.
