This is our second time at Sofitel Sentosa - we returned because we like the facilities and all the staff are exceptional. The rooms and grounds are a bit 'tired' but I believe they are being revamped so we're interested to see what they look like when we visit again next year.

When I checked in the lady told me i was unable to be upgraded as they were fully booked (I am a gold Member) but when I looked it up online there was still every room type available. She also gave me no information about the resort. Our room wasn't ready so she suggested we go to lunch and pointed us into the direction of the restaurant across from reception. we later found out that this was one of the more expensive options and we could have had lunch by the pool... the beer at lunch was $23 yet by the pool at the exact same time they were $12. $23 for a pint of beer is OUTRAGEOUS. I was not informed about the shuttle, the gym not being on site or given directions on how to get to the beach. There was not even a map or a run through of the different dining options. We had just spent 3 weeks in Thailand and had just stayed 4 incredible nights at the Movenpick in Bangkok and the two aren't even comparable in terms of service. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean. The pool was hot and there is no shade, the towels are a bit scabby for a 5 star resort. On the app it said that I had fully paid - yet on checkout i was told the app was wrong and that I still had an outstanding amount owing for the accommodation. - this is confusing and annoying as I hadn't budgeted for it as I thought I had already paid months prior. Getting a drink by the pool was a hard task as there was hardly any staff around. Lots to be done in terms of service.

Excellent choice to bring paw kids along, However this time, downgraded from suite which size is understandable but the obvious segregation shown when dog bed is obviously much worn comaprison to my other 2 stay (or perhaps i claimed one if the free nights) which I feel its unnecessary. Very slow checked in 1hr wait, noisy environment due to renovation.
