Stayed here for two nights after attending a friend's wedding recently. Good - overall resort ambience and food at the Cliff was decent. Bad - after checking into our room, we discovered tiny larvae and maggots across the wall and ceiling next to the work desk. We managed to get a different room but nevertheless it was a gross experience and something I've never seen before in a hotel. In the new room, the mosaic floor tiles in the shower came off in a few places during showering.

Disappointing stay

Hotel wasn’t up to standard and went there for my birthday celebration but didn’t receive any prior emails to ask if celebrating any occasions. Checked in on my actual birthday but nothing was given or mentioned. The food served especially the seafood was not fresh and had a bad smell, serving size for lunch was small. Was only told on the day when we checked out that we were unable to eat at Sofitel spa, so had to travel back after our massage just to eat the lunch. Due to inconsistence bus timings, we had a super late lunch and I feel Sofitel could have call or email us before we check in so that we can better plan our timing. We wasted an hour plus sitting at Sofitel spa lobby waiting for the bus that didn’t arrive just to go back and forth for food and back again to use the garden facilities which was poorly maintained as well. Not to mention, the aircon broke down at the Sofitel spa lobby and it was very humid. The hotel lobby had an unpleasant smell too. Hotel staffs were not as friendly as we thought. This did not feel like a five star hotel stay. We paid so much for the Sofitel spa only to receive such disappointing news. The massage wasn’t that great either, it’s definitely not worth the money. Wasted my whole afternoon waiting. Also, upon using the jacuzzi in the ladies room, one of the male staff came in to remove the used towels. I was shocked. Didn’t realise males are allowed to enter the female changing room. Overall, an unpleasant stay.

Hotel Pool and Kwee Zeen restaurant feel overcrowded. Should sanitise the poolside beds/chairs after each slot. No one checked if I was booked for my pool timeslot, I just entered with Trace Together without checks to see if it was really my turn or not. Operators/Staff take a very long time to answer the phone or phone rings off the hook without answer. Got locked out of my room after 12noon despite late check-out arrangement. Staff are not as friendly, not sure if they are over-stressed. Did fast/express check-out but have no received my final bill till date (15/10).

I celebrated my wife's birthday with sofitel. Had some delivery and the Sofitel Conceirge was prompt and friendly. They wrote down the things that they were due for delivery and I am happy with the service ! The hotel check in was fantastic and the staff had all my records of the special requests I requested thru email. They even prepared a cake. Room service was good and overall an excellent experience. Thanks Sofitel !

One of the rare hotels that allow pet staycation. Will be better if there are outdoor restaurants that could cater to pet dine in too.

Not stroller friendly to the swimming pool and access to tanjong beach

Called in and requested if it’s possible to have a last minute changes in making our bed to anniversary design and was told that we will get a complimentary anniversary cake and till last day not even 1 from your staff came to us for our complimentary anniversary cake. Not forgetting upon checking in, we were very disappointed with one of your staff, Adilah, for giving us wrong information on direction to the beach knowing that we brought our stroller and Adilah directed us to the stairs that’s without the ramp that we had to go up and down carrying our stroller. Considering the stay and accessibility is not up to our expectations. And hotel corridor wasn’t air conditioned and it looks poorly maintained considering this is a 5 star hotel. Not forgetting, the bathroom has that strong drain smell which clearly shows that it’s poorly maintained too

Very good service level from all level of staff at front desk, concierge, restaurants, lounge/bar, pool and housekeeping. Everyone were excellent, courteous, fast and responsive. Just to mention a few names - Farah at check in, Aaron at concierge, Timothy Chong at the Cliff and numerous staff at the breakfast service (Kwee Zeen). Not forgetting the Chinese uncle at concierge whom I forgotten to ask for his name - he had been very friendly and helpful. Before checking in, I read a some unpleasant reviews by other guests but what my wife and I experienced during our stay convinced us that Sofitel Sentosa is still the 'resort' for a great rejuvenating getaway from work. The mountain bikes for complimentary use are pretty well maintained and riding them around the island (up and down slope) was easy and provided pretty good workout.

We stayed in Villa 2 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. However, for the money we paid my husband and I were disappointed in the quality of the villa. Drawers would not open, there was mould on the floor in the master bathroom, mould around the air conditioning vents and the master air conditioning was not fully functional. We called Reception to inform them, they said a technician was on their way and they never turned up. The buttons in the second bedroom for the curtains didn't work and we felt the menu for in-room dining was rather limited. Further, the amount of clingfilm used to wrap our dishes in was far too much. There was so much we couldn't even rip it open and had to use a knife to cut it all off! The pool really is the selling point however, I noticed that tiles had come off and weren't replaced.

the stay was awesome! I booked the one that comes with breakfast, lunch and dinner. I really enjoy the stay very much as the staff were nice and the place was private. I went to stay to celebrate my mum's birthday. I saw from the reviews that the hotel provided some birthday cake when mentioned that it was a birthday. It didn't happen for us, but it was alright! Because of the amount of food that we ordered there were extra charges for some items. Which was perfectly fine. In the guest chats it showed the top-up to be eg.$36. But when the bill came it was $200++. This happened for 2 meals, even when I bought the package that provided lunch and dinner. But it was alright because I understand that we really ate alot! overall, stay was awesome and I didn't mind the top-up as we ate alot! Thank you!

Exterior of the compound still looks good but not or the room interior. Looks a little rundown. The check-in was rather slow. I took almost 45mins to get my check-in done and there was long queue behind me. The food and service from The Cliff was good. Had an enjoyable dinner. So Spa was kind of disappointing as the facilities were not well maintained, looks so rundown. The services provided was bad. It was so much different from my last visit years ago. There wasn’t very clear instruction given what I should do moving from place to place. The massage was the only thing is good.

No pre-arrival call or email on check-in time. Poor sound insulation in the rooms. Noise permeates easily and guests were made to use a free WiFi channel which raises questions on data security and connectivity strength.

Good customer service, nice room and ambience, make you feel like you are at an oversea vacation. As the resort is located far in, and due to insufficient time, unable to explore sentosa.... should stay for 2 days instead. Overall a restful staycation and warm services.

our room needs a little refurbishing: smells a little musky; the door slams hard and loud. bad view from my room - overlooks a construction yard. the pool and landscaping in general is nice; with many birds sighted in the compound, including peacocks, hornbills and cockatoos. nice sunset and sea view from the restaurant.

Worst stay; my first and last stay at sofitel sentosa.

1: air-condition was leaking water 2: TV no signal 3: found a used needle on the room floor 4: bathroom tiles on the floor were dropping out and cut our feet We ve called the hotel staff to solve the problems for TV signal and air-condition leakage but needle on the floor and tiles in the bathroom were dropping out ? What if our feet get Injured? Apparently my husband stepped on the needle on the floor but luckily no injuries happen, but estimated 20 pieces of 2cm x 2cm tiles kept dropping out from the bathroom floor when we were showering every time . The tiles edges were sharp and cutting our feet.

poor maintenance , old place . not value for money. food average . Spa very poor . Staff very nice. Gym very dirty . at the end the name is Sofitel , the property is Novatel . you should take care on air conditions , bathroom and showers renovation
