Good location, clean and well-maintained room, and decent breakfast. However, the spa area was a major disappointment and clearly in need of renovation. The ‘restaurant dinner’ cannot really be called that, as it feels more like a breakfast dining area. It would be better not to offer a service that you are not properly equipped to provide. The food itself was also disappointing. Handling of problematic situations was very poor.

50eur deposit is like from 90s. Smelly bedsheets and room itself. Good breakfast and staff. Overall for one night-ok.

When I arrived, I was happy to hear I had an upgrade but disappointed to learn my room was not ready. I was told to return in 40 minutes. I returned over 2 hours later around 1600 and was told the room was still not ready. I didn't mind earlier, but I was not happy when I returned. I confirmed check in was indeed 1400. It was not until I showed I was unhappy that all of a sudden a room was found for me. Then on the next night, hungry, I called for room service only to be told there was no room service due to a function. This had not been informed of this and had to order food to be delivered. I work in tourism and this was really an unhappy experience at the hotel.

We had the opportunity to spend a couple of free days in Riga besides our working days. We had a nice time at Mercure and Old town of Riga. We enjoyed the unhurried mornings with a good buffet breakfast and our comfortable room.
