We really loved the room, and it was the only place where I've ever had such a cool view from my *bathtub!* And what a luxurious bathtub! The hotel is really trippy with its different designs and themes for the rooms, though the difference in rooms and styles (liquid, vapor, etc) was really unclear on the website. We liked the room we got but honestly, I'm not even sure if it's what we requested. There's a lot about how you can get a room in multiple styles, but nowhere to see what those styles look like. The bathtub and shower in our room were spectacular, but the bathtub had plenty of ways to spray water all over the bathroom (including behind the tub), and few ways to clean that up. The shower door could either slide to either close off the shower or the toilet, and once you open the door, it drips water all into the toilet stall. It also let a TON of water out into the main bathroom area, and didn't drain much at all. Our bathmat was always absolutely soaked, and we had to swap our towels every day because several would have to get used mopping up the water. But the bathrobe and slippers were wonderful, and really made us feel more comfortable. The minibar was well stocked with snacks, too, which really saved our bacon (no, there wasn't bacon). The amenities were quite nice, as was the little set of drawers they provide them in. And the facilities at the hotel were really cool as well. We were really excited to go for a swim in the trippy, stylish swimming pool, which ended up being closed for maintenance again. We were also excited about the rooftop bar, also closed. It turned out to not be open any of the days we were there, which was really disappointing. It made it feel like the bar wasn't for hotel guests so much as just Aucklanders in general. Overall, however, we really liked our stay here. It was a very comfy room, with a beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again!

An enjoyable family experience.

Check in was disapointing. We arrived early at about 1 pm, but told our room would be available in about 45 minutes so we decided to wait in lobby. Room ws not ready until 3.20 and then we had to wait a furthe 30 minutes for our luggage and only after we called reception to request. I was also told we were upgraded but we were not. After the initial issues the stay was very good and all staff very friendly and very comfortable room. I am All Accor Gold but this was my first stay at a SO.

Well located however noisey

From check in it was a disaster. As platinum member I had booked 2 rooms, which they couldn’t find for quite some time (despite them being in my app). Reception eventually found the room booking, it had been changed to my friends name and apparently there were 4 rooms booked. Only 2 on my app though. Anyway after a bad first start I had asked for a high floor. We were put on level 7. Near a noisey street corner. My profile clearly states quiet room as I’m such a light sleeper. I wasn’t upgraded despite rooms of a higher category being available. Minibar was not present either. Late in the evening trying to sleep was not working due to street noise so I rung down to see if I could move rooms. After several gos trying to get through I managed and the lovely lady who had to check with management moved me to level 11 away from the corner. Not ideal late in the evening half asleep, but once moved I managed to sleep due to a quieter room. Breakfast was fantastic and a redeeming factor, and concierge very good. Other than that I can say I won’t be back to this property.

Great location, amazing staff all around, clean & quiet!
