Nightmare on Dachauer Straße

I stayed at the Ibis for a short visit to Oktoberfest 24 and I found my stay to be rather cramped to say the least. When I made my booking I pointed out that I needed a room with disabled access and amenities due to a severe spinal injury on my part. I was assured that everything would be fine and extra pillows would be provided for me. The room I got for my carer and I was so small and cramped that it was difficult to negotiate my way past the end of the beds, such was the lack of space between the bed and the wall with a precariously balanced mirror at that point as well. The washing facilities were so small that I was completely unable to have a shower. My carer even found it difficult to wash. The toilet was so close to the wall that I was able to rest my head against said wall during use. I would have hoped that a disabled friendly toilet would have something to help me rise from a seated position but no. The bed had only 1 pillow provided despite my request. When I asked for more, I did receive 3 more but not without question. The bed was generally uncomfortable provoking lower leg spasms throughout the night. The breakfasts were great however and the staff friendly. The area that the hotel is situated in is a bit seedy with a strip bar almost next door. The area was also fairly noisy after dark. Then noisy in the morning due to the nearby presence of what I assume is a kindergarten. The counting songs were like something out of a creepy film and did nothing to help an after breakfast nap.

Beware of the speed bump!!!

Birdgod Friends getaway - TripAdvisor review

Unfortunately in the early hours of my second day I tripped over a poorly lit and marked speed bump located a few yards from the hotel entrance resulting in me smashing my face on the concrete floor. My injuries consisted of two black eyes, cuts, grazing and severe bruising to my forehead and left side of face. One of my party had commented that it was a trip hazard but unfortunately I was not present when this comment was made !!!!

Because of an error with a different hotel, we didnt have any accomodation for our concertweekend. Luckily München City Ost still had rooms! The rooms where clean, the bed slept great and the breakfast service was great. Very friendly employees!
