At the reception, all the staff were super busy dealing with other guests and their nuances. But one of the staff noticed me standing in the queue behind... and said Sir, allow us 5 mins. And obviously I obliged because they did not loose sight of me, while dealing with the other guests.

Rooms are small and beds accommodate only 2 people. You have to pay extra for beds for children, even under 12. The manager, blamed this problem on hotels.com but still offered us as customers no compensation for the inconvenience. Our room had lots of tiny insects crawling on the floor which we noted second night. On top of this, we had a room that had an interconnected door and could hear the next door guests arguments the whole night so we got zero sleep. I also asked for extra mattress topper as the beds were rock hard and the front desk said they had none. However, when complaining to the manager they said they have so not sure what is what. The breakfast was terrible with no variation and offered only carbs and fried options and soggy omelettes. We stayed here 2 nights rather than expected 11 nights. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this hotel. Although the pool area is great, despite ice cold water, and the tiny kids club, I think it was a terrible stay and there are much better hotels for families.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this time I feel I have to share my experience. I generally like Mercure hotels, but not this one. I stayed at Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort from 27 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. Based on other reviews I expected it might be bad, but I didn’t think it could be this bad. I strongly do not recommend this hotel. The rooms are outdated, and the service is the worst I’ve experienced at any Mercure property. The rooms are extremely worn out — old furniture, poor condition, and very small. We requested an extra bed for our child, and after they placed it in the room, it basically became one huge bed from wall to wall. That’s how tiny the room is. There were constant issues with the elevators. From time to time, one of the two elevators didn’t work, which is a nightmare for such a large building. Getting up and down from the 14th floor was a real challenge: the elevator stopped on almost every floor, it was always crowded, and it took forever. Check-in was also problematic. We waited two hours for our room and only got it around 4 PM, even though check-in is supposed to be at 2 PM. I had contacted the hotel staff several days in advance and confirmed our arrival time. Also, I have ALL Accor Platinum status, which normally includes early check-in benefits. On top of that, they gave me the wrong room type. I booked a room with one king-size bed but was given two single beds pushed together, with an uncomfortable gap in the middle. It’s not acceptable to allow these bookings if the hotel cannot provide the promised room type. The front desk staff did not help resolve this at all. Another serious issue: the bathroom sometimes had a strong sewage smell. Someone came once to “fix” it, but the smell never went away. It was absolutely awful. Breakfast deserves a separate mention. Tea bags were only provided if you specifically asked the staff — I have never seen this before, not even in 3-star hotels. I ordered an omelet and waited over 20 minutes, and when it arrived, the toppings were wrong. They remade it three times, and by then I had already finished breakfast with other food. The overall food selection was very limited. To make matters worse, there were small bugs in the room. I couldn’t even identify what they were. They were everywhere — including on the bed, and even crawling on you while you are lying down. Booking reference: PGLSDFKF

It's a beautiful and convenient downtown hotel. Room is compact and clean, as my Platinum status Anya did her effort to upgrade our room and nice tone of voices to explain my benefits. Pool on upstairs is more peaceful, less kids. Highy recommend Mercure Pattaya.
