Dear Accor Customer Relations, I am an Accor Silver member and until recently I was also a Gold member. Unfortunately, during my recent stay, I was disappointed to notice a decline in the service quality compared to my previous experiences with your hotels. After staying at an Ibis hotel, I arrived at your property around 11:30 AM. Before bringing my family, I first visited the reception to ask whether an early check-in was possible, and I was informed that a room was available. Based on this information, I returned with my family and completed the check-in process without any issue. Later, when I politely asked about the possibility of a late check-out, the receptionist questioned why I had checked in early in the first place. She also incorrectly stated that Silver members only have the right to late check-out, while speaking in a manner that felt unnecessarily interrogative. Although she eventually assisted us, the overall approach made it feel as though this was a personal favor rather than a standard benefit or a customer-oriented gesture. What upset me most was not whether the hotel could accommodate the request, but rather being questioned about why we wanted both an early check-in and a late check-out. I believe the focus should have been on providing accurate information and maintaining a welcoming, professional attitude rather than making guests feel uncomfortable for asking. As this was the final day and final hours of my Thailand vacation, this interaction unfortunately left a negative memory. I do not wish to share the employee’s name, as my intention is not to target an individual personally. However, I believe it is important for the hotel management to understand how such communication styles can affect guest experience. I would also like to mention that the complimentary treat sent to our room and the kind note from your manager were appreciated, but unfortunately they did not align with the experience we had during this interaction. An excellent 2 night stay at this well located property. My ALL Platinum status was well recognised with a lovely room upgrade and attentive service. Breakfast was typical for a Mercure property with a reason buffet selection.
