In a word - dated. Our experience was not great. Check in was not ready at the normal time, and when we were sent to the room (we had to ask - they didn't tell us despite being told to wait and they'd let us know) it still had a cleaner in it. A different room was arranged, and that room had a malfunctioning toilet (that took two complaints to fix, and even then still didn't really work but we gave up). The room phone was broken, and the room itself was very tired. Sparsely furnished, the carpet had holes, the chair was shedding material, the bathroom door wouldn't close, the curtains were hanging off. Everywhere you looked it was showing signs of age. It is in desperate need of a refresh. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, but super busy - they were turning guests away telling them they were full and to "try again later". If it was a 3 star hotel, at a 3 star price, you might think fair enough. But for a hotel that calls itself 5 star and charges a 5 star rate... it was not. On the plus side - the room was a good size for what it was, the location is great, and the concierge was very helpful. You can do better, for cheaper.

Not recommended - 3 star hotel

This Pullman is definitely not 5 star - tried to check in at 2pm and the room was not ready. Waited half an hour and then told room was ready. Went up and staff were still cleaning -waited 15 minutes and still not ready so asked for another room. Hotel is very tired, carpet in room worn bare, curtains not hung anymore, toilet flush was broken so tried to call reception and phone was not working… room was not particularly clean with brown splash stains up the wall and bathroom door, shower head clogged so only a few of the water holes worked… Not recommended. Maybe 3 stars at best…

Poor Facilities and Poor Experience

My experience is one that will result in never staying again. Check in was a lengthly process with limited staff trying to manage a growing line of guests. Trying to get up to our room was a nightmare with two lifts working overtime and each time we required a lift throughout our stay, we could be assured that the wait would be between 2 and 10 minutes. The room was dated and had seen better days, mould was present in the bathroom and off putting marks over the mirror (staining, rust, or bodily fluids?) The beds were comfortable. On awaking the next morning, we found our toilet not working and trying to call through to inform someone led to multiple hang ups from reception, maintenance, and house keeping. In order to use a toilet we headed down to breakfast passing reception on the way who when informed that the toilet was broken were dismissive as to the urgency and we were informed that maintenance did not start until 8am. Around 10:00am attempted to call through to see what was happening and again, was hung up on. Went back down to reception to state no-one had come to check the toilet and having to travel in a lift to use the toilet was not a solution. We decided to head out as the room was not functional and received a call at 12:00pm that we would have to be moved as the toilet was not able to be fixed. Room move was efficient and staff were very helpful. Room service was quick and the meal was great. However, children running up and down halls knocking on guests doors, blasting music and yelling and play fighting was the final nail in the coffin for any redeeming aspect of this stay. My summary of this stay was that it was a waste of money and I don’t travel to add stress to my life.
