Mercure Brisbane King George Square 4 estrelas

Centre of town location, excellent rooftop bar and pool, very nice restaurant. Room was comfortable and clean. While you could tell some front-line staff were new, when we had a medical emergency the managers were all professional and extremely helpful. They checked in on us regularly, made sure we could stay additional days needed for recovery without relocating and made a difficult time much easier.

The hotel is very clean with the hotel staff helpful. Well insulated against traffic noise. It is well placed within easy walk of most attractions. I would recommend this hotel. My room was clean with plenty of space.

The hotel is in a good location, easy walk to the CBD and southbank. The Mercure uses the Pullman hotel for checkin, and its poorly signed so can be confusing upon arrival. The reception process was frustrating, as they take a hold on your CC upon checkin, and then another payment upon checkout. Rather than the payment, plus a separate hold on checkin. This meant the checkout process took awhile and there was a long line of guests in the morning. For a one night stay, it wasn't pleasant to stand in line at reception twice for 10mins or so each time. The Mercure side needs a renovation - the rooms smell (no opening windows). They are a decent size, but my TV had "MR (first name) MR (last name) on the screen when I entered the room, which was weird given I am "Mrs". It just showed the hotels poor attention to detail. Shower was good but had mould marks in it. Bed fine for a night, but pillows could of been improved (super thin).

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights. The first night we noticed that the duvet/quilt had old blood stains over it, there was peanuts on the floor and the shower was dirty. I asked the receptionist if we could have our room cleaned and new bedding. When we returned to our room that evening the floor was hoovered however the sheets were still blood stained and the bathroom was still dirty. we spent the next two nights sleeping with just a sheet over us. The rooftop pool wasn’t clean either. The concrete in the pool was broke making the floor of the pool was stoney and uncomfortable. Very disappointed as I was expecting a better experience with this hotel!! Please note* The rooftop bar closes on a Sunday and Monday and the bar on the ground floor wasn’t opened on the Friday - Monday that we stayed. However the restaurant was opened

Very disappointed, room was fine but the rooftop bar music totally let it down. You need to be playing a different mix of music not just with a bang bang bang beat. All sounded the same. Garage I think. My friend went up to complain and was told management make the play list. Not good enough, play for all tastes plz
