1. As a gold card member, I didn’t get a room upgrade and welcome drink. 2. I left my electric toothbrush and pajama. They didn’t contact me! Until I called back. The staff said we didn’t know if you need them or not, so we didn’t call you. Excuse me? If it’s not a business trip, I won’t choose Sofitel!

Fast and easy check in! Our room was ready but we still made our way to the Chinese restaurant for one of the best value for price all you can eat dim-sum menu. We've been upgraded to a suite which is spacious and very comfortable, specially with a 1 year old baby. The millennium tea time and evening cocktail are excellent and really filling. The breakfast spread is also very satisfying with choice of western and asian food. The gym and swimming pool are great too!

Due to a recent international conference, there have been some temporary changes in hotel services - access to parking & gym, dinning options, Covid 19 tests, and security checks in-out of the hotel. However, despite many last minutes changes, the front desk managers and staffs kept me well informed and made every attempt to endure there was minimum impact on my daily routines.

the sofitel kunming with the great location , restaurant, foods and amazing serives! the concierge and the lounge staff could recognize the loyalty member when you check in, home away from home! Everything was terrific: the room, the ambience and the service... However very pity I didn’t make a reservation in advance for dinner at the restaurant, so I had to order a room delivery, one star minus on the food quality. It was a Chinese noodle but tasted like nothing. The price of the noodles were ridiculously expensive though, hope the hotel could improve on that.

It has been a great stay in your Sofitel Property in Kunming .But the most impressive was the staff especially the Concierge James who did the extra miles in term of arrangements ,visits ,excursion .He made our stay from an ordinary Sofitel Stay become an extraordinary stay .definitely the type of concierge who wish to have in your stay anywhere in the world .

Worldtravel-Derek Business - TripAdvisor review

I really appreciate the ladies in reservation department. They are very patient for my frequent calling for more room bookings. Very efficient to call me check my request when I first time reserve which is one week ago. Then I call for other room booking (my colleague ) from IHG members. They are good. However, when checked in, Its different! Staff doesn't matter where I checked in (front desk or executive lounge, after 2:30pm). Only replied : up to you! Then room didn't match my request which they called one week before. It is a suite but there is no extra outlet on desk for my phone or laptop. The living room is bigger then bed room which I have to leave every thing in living room. Very strange design they put luggage stage right next to the entrance door. That means I have to walk to entrance every time I need to reach my luggage. Also If I have guests come, the first thing he saw will be my opened luggage. Also there is no light on the luggage stall. The lighting in the room is dark, makes carpet looked very dirty. The shower space is much tight and they reserve much more space to a seldom use bath tub. So i have to leave all dirty shirts in living room on the sofa. I have to walk back and forth for my stuff from luggage. I have to charge my laptop and two phones in 3 different place. The design is poor! The breakfast food table walked like 1 mile long. Walking in this sofitel is normal. Compared to Guangzhou Sunrich Sofitel, this Kunming one is far far behind! In the evening before I check out, hotel call to offer me a new "better condition room". I rejected. Need to organize everything and reopen, it is waste of time. Luckly, I didn't stay in hotel whole day time during my stay. Only go back for sleeping! Highly recommend Kunming sofitel send staff to visit Guangzhou Sofite. At least to learn face to guest when they are talking. Ignoring is not good feeling to customer.

The facilities are overall good. Me and my friend unluckily experienced the pool&gym maintenance; other basic instruments are OK. The most memorable is the excellent quality of their service, staffs are so caring and friendly. Especially the girl named Cyan Pu is a true angel of this hotel. The pickiest person in this world won't have a problem with her service. Her professionalism, cordiality, and kindness make her the best staff I have ever met in all Accor hotels. Five-star recommendation for this hotel mainly because of the service from staff Cyan Pu.

Staying for business travel, I found the hotel location extremely convenient to the downtown and the lake resort area. With public transportation nearby, one can easily access to the Kunming airport and Kunming Railway station, where daily high speed trains are available to Dali and Lijiang. Front desk check-in staffs are very efficient, friendly and helpful; and not enough of Thank You can be said to the staff members working on 49th floor during breakfast and at the Executive Lounge. For you lucky few, the view during an after-rain sunset from 48th floor is stunning. There is a room for improvement in terms of hot food variety, quality and presentation in the Executive Lounge on 48th floor. And sometime it can very loud at the lounge with kids running around.

liaket Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Modern, high building which dominate with some others skyscrapers in city. I was lucky to have my room at 36th floor and had dreamy view over the city both in day and night lights. Room was just excellent with great amenities and huge king sized bed with choice of pillows and great linen. Bathroom with bathtub near to big window to enjoy view of the city even tacking bath. Special reword to breakfast: first it is restaurant itself on the 49th floor with so incredible view, and second, choice of meal and great quality of it. I was really very much impressed. Felt pity that was not able to have second breakfast due to my early leave. Very friendly and attentive stuff. I would be happy to stay there one more time once I'm back in Kunming.

The turndown service was excellent with a given gold-package of local traditional pu-er was very welcoming and pleasant every nights. Nice hotel with very friendly staff - especially the check in desk and Concierge. The Check-in staff were very pleasant and helpful and made the checking in process easy. Stayed on two occasions, for a total of 3 nights. This hotel is amazing. We have travelled in many places over the years, and the Sofitel Kunming is one of the best, if not the best, hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional, and the service was outstanding. Our room was beautiful, very big, and with floor to ceiling windows had a superb view of the city and beyond to the lake and mountains. Breakfast was also superb, as were the meals at LAN restaurant, and even without our Accor member dining discounts (which we used), were very reasonably priced, especially compared to other hotel restaurants we ate at. Would highly recommend this hotel. Don't stay anywhere else in Kunming!

Sofitel Kunming, the location of the hotel is very excellent, close to the Joy City complex and also the Carrefour market 10 minutes walk, You will find a lot of bakeries and great restaurants, its location amidst many tourist places, 15 minutes by taxi Akshan Lake, 7 minutes by taxi to the famous Jinbo Street, 20 minutes rock city Shilin, 15 minutes to Yuling Mountain , The reception was beautiful and wonderful I liked the way the general manager welcomed me . The general manager is encouraging assistant managers to keep in touch with every customer, and every day you see something new in the hotel or room, flowers, fruits, and tea. All staff speak English, provide assistance and information to all the tourist attractions in the city, see the smile on all staff at the hotel. The room is very nice and the decor and colors are quiet and organized and luxurious make you start your day with a comfortable feeling . The restaurant is beautiful overlooking the panorama of the city and the lake, they have Chef Mohamed, the quality of the food in the buffet is varied and international, the restaurant and the staff are very clean and energetic, and I liked something if you want special food and not present in the buffet within minutes they provide . I thank the Director General for working comfortably during my stay at the hotel. Really a great hotel and an intelligent General manager who has rules and foundations for the success of the hotel. Thank you to all the wonderful assistant managers who are actively working, and all the staff at the hotel. Thank Kunming City, thank the Chinese people for their hospitality to me in their wonderful country.

Very well maintained and modern hotel although tmuch of the interior design was poorly conceived and rather urgly. F&B Manager Mr King LAN and Executive Chef Mo were both very friendly and helpful indeed but there was little sign of middle or other senior management on duty. My luxury room was excellent. The Executive lounge was specious with very good range of food during happy hour, but range of drinks and cocktail list were very limited. The female staff in the lounge spoke little English, appeared inadequately trained and need to be tasught to be pro-active with their service. Conciege staff and drivers did their best to be helpful which was a plus.

Excellent customer service during our check-in, especially for the Accor member. A thumbs up specially to the front desk supervisor, Ms. Vitamin Li 李霞. However, we have been given a wrong information by others at the front desk on the requirements for the swimming cap for the swimming pool. A great variety of choice for the breakfast, which is our first encounter with so many type of breakfast among our experiences with other 5-star hotel. Overall, it is a very good experience for our family stay in Sofitel Kunming.
