The hotel offers a beautiful blend of luxury, comfort and excellent service. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-maintained, with stunning views of Kunming city. The beds were especially comfortable after a long day of travelling and exploring Yunnan. One of the highlights was the staff hospitality — everyone was warm, polite, and always willing to help. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the concierge team was helpful with recommendations and transportation arrangements. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to the lake and attractions around the city. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices, including both local Yunnan specialties and international options, which made it enjoyable for both adults and kids. Overall, Sofitel Kunming provided a luxurious yet comfortable experience, and we would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Kunming in the future.

Most of staff cannot speak English not even simple words. I have 2 bookings but you didn’t honor the right amount of room nights for my own bookings but the one with less room nights for my other booking for my family. I also found out there’s was other website 携程 has the same rooms for 200rmb cheaper per room night than my booking recently. Thought being there platinum member, we should have the best deal. Otherwise, why should we pay to join you? Also I had some bad experience with your waitress in the restaurant for breakfast, not only She’s rude & refuse to help me but bossed me to go help myself & the following day she was still giving me angry look the whole time making me feeling uncomfortable to have my breakfast there. We paid almost 1000rmb per night to stay there to be served with a 1 star hotel service, very disappointing. I had spoken to the manager there and she’s very apologetic and nice about it. However, the attitude of the staff hasn’t changed, that’s just a disgrace for Sofitel brand! Staff like that should not be working in Sofitel!

The view from restaurant for breakfast at 49 floor is fantastic. It is the walking distance from Yujindai metro station and convenient to move around the city.
