Very poor stay the bedding cover was stained their was a bag of rubbish left in the room only I set of towels for 2 guests no cups for making drinks At breakfast their was a dirty bowl left with the clean ones checked out after I day receptionist confused me with another guest and said we had only be charged for 1 night which was incorrect as we booked through Hotels.com and paid in advance Was advised to message front of house by email and no one has responded Definitely would not say here again

Shower - sealing was black. Carpet sticky. Toilet seat would not stay up. Evening meal very poor. Needs updating badly,

Lovely 2 Night Break

Arrived during the heatwave on the 10th August for a 2 night break. Reading some of the previous reviews, we were expecting the room to be overly hot and extremely uncomfortable. We were therefore pleasantly surprised to find the room was relatively cool as it benefited from the shade from the trees outside. Room 116 on the ground floor was extremely spacious with a huge comfy bed. And although furnishings were a little dated, it was still very clean and. comfortable. All the staff were a credit to the hotel...a particular mention to Laura and Lisa on reception who were very friendly and welcoming, and also to Wendy from the breakfast service who worked tirelessly throughout. There was plenty of choice available for breakfast, well stocked with food items replenished as and when needed. The hotel has ample parking and is ideally situated near to the park & ride into York. Overall we had a really lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again at Fairfield Manor Hotel.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and found all of the staff we dealt with friendly, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed the breakfast as well as the dinners we had. The bed was comfortable and the room was well furnished aside from the blackout blinds being a bit old/worn and thus letting some light in. The only negative was that we felt the cleanliness of the room was not up to scratch. There were bits on the carpet in places and the bath had hair in it and a few soap scum marks. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the use of the nearby health centre was a big bonus. Thank you.
