Good location pathetic hotel and abysmal service ! there were days when they left dirty cups in our rooms and didn’t even bother making our sheets. Their prices are as if they will give you stars but it’s very sub par…. Bare minimum amenities…

OK but no wow

Rooms small but clean comfortable and recently decorated. Good shower. Large flat screen tv. Awful view from room (407). Dining and bar area very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. OK for a night after the rugby. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice.

Needs a deep clean

The hotel room was in a desperate need of a deep clean, the bathroom radiator was impossible to switch off making it difficult to sleep at night (the heat radiated through the whole room). The shower head had some sort of mould / fungus on it, the taps had residue around them which quite frankly was gross. The room would really benefit from a deep clean, aside from the gross bits there was just dust everywhere. The only good thing I can see was the staff was very friendly. Would I stay here again? No, I would rather book a Premier Inn at this point.

Great stay.

The Mercure was in a fabulous position in Prince`s Street, overlooking Prince`s Gardens and the Old Town. In view of our arriving early, the receptionist allowed us to store our until our rooms were ready, which meant we didn`t hve to carry them round Edinburgh all afternoon. We were upgraded to refurbished, front-facing bedrooms. The service was terrific. We sere served a lovely breakfast on the morning before we cheched out.
