Ozymandias75 TripAdvisor review

The hotel is on a very busy shopping street, and there is no stopping in front, which makes it very difficult to load or offload luggage, particularly when there is no one to assist with the luggage. God knows where the preferred parking garage is. The coordinates given to me by the hotel staff were flat out wrong, and I spent nearly an hour driving around Edinburgh searching for the garage. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE DRIVING YOUR OWN CAR. The hotel's location is excellent. Otherwise, the hotel is OK but nothing more.

My stay at this property was lovely with a few areas for improvement. On the one hand, my request for a room on a high floor, away from the elevator with a view was accommodated and the view of the castle and royal mile was amazing. On the other, I had a package shipped to the hotel that they were unable to locate without my having to remind them several times to look for it. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms are not air conditioned which was a bit of a shock considering this hotel is positioned as being upscale. The room was very hot at night and we had to prop open the terrace door.

Dear Julie C., Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Mercure Edinburgh Princes Street. We are pleased that you enjoyed our fantastic location and trust you had a memorable experience here in beautiful Edinburgh. We are an older 3star property and we will be conducting a full refurbishment in September 2022, I do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back soon. Vicki Guest Care Manager
