the stay was brilliant the guy at the reception was going off shift and quickly checked us in, not so sure about the ladys tone of voice! enjoyed the stay itself and they accommodated a later check out for the kids this was really helpful. the only thing is when you book and it says you can use the facilities it doesnt say the pool/jacuzzi is unavailable from 4 till 6 and the kids need to be out at 7 and check in is at 3 so how much time does that leave?! there are also no warnings to say the water is really really hot in the bathrooms, the taps and shower heads are also grimy, my single bed was actually a pull out bed and not very comfortable at all...

Overall the experience from my stay was very positive. It was easy enough to find, and close to the main road (but not noisy from the road). The staff checked me in quickly and efficiently. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfy. There was a TV and kettle (and tea and coffee) in the room along with an ironing board. The room had a nice view over the garden. Although there was no air conditioning I was provided with a fan when I asked for one. As slight negatives - the sound proofing was not great and I could hear people in the neighbouring rooms at times. I was next to a fire door, and could hear everyone going past opening and closing the door, I think I was over a function room which was fine until someone decided to test the stereo system about an hour before I was due to get up. Could do with some electric sockets near the bed (only ones were on the opposite side of the room).

All staff were polite and efficient. The room could have done with an extra light above the desk, but there were plenty of lights in the room. The bed was firm, as were the pillows. The only issue with the room cleaning was that there was dirt behind the sink taps. There were no toilet brushes. Toiletries and tissues were provided for use. There was no issue with light from the curtains, but there was slight traffic noise at 4am. I had a continental breakfast which was nice, all self-service. There was a large range of pastries.

The rooms really need a refurb, they are really quite dated and tired. Ceiling tiles with brown water marks where there have been leaks, the baths are incredibly precarious, super cheap plastic so standing in them for the shower and the floor of the actual bath moves. The showers are also fixed in position which is a nightmare as the water gets absolutely everywhere. The rooms were plenty spacious, the conservatory floor which was unavoidable due to where our rooms were location is uneven which was dangerous as a member of our party tripped. The hotel lobby and entrance has clearly had a face lift and was lovely and clean and finished to a high standard. It’s just a real shame the rooms are not a reflection of the entry to the hotel.

Very good for 3 star, pity you did not have any Brandy glasses. what made it worse was the bar man's statement I've been in the bar trade for twenty years and never seen Brandy glasses !!!!!!

Nice, quiet & clean rooms with all amenities. Modern fixtures in a larger than usual room with garden view. Shower, TV & coffee machine was nice touch. Gangways & room doors looking tired & in need of a fresh coat of paint. The Chef is a real asset to the hotel,his fish of the day is a personal triumph.

Good and friendly staff. Room spacious and easy to manage the lights in the room. Breakfast good with ample supply and good variety. Having a fridge would be nice. Bathroom floor easily gets wet.

From the moment I rang the hotel looking to book rooms the staff went out of their way to be helpful and it was the same throughout our stay. They couldn’t have been better. We had a lovely suite and ate at the hotel on three evenings. The food was really good too with a good choice of vegetarian dishes available as well as meat and fish dishes.

Pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were helpful. Food and service excellent. Location quiet and handy for city and Beverley. Room was spacious,clean and had all the necessary amenities I needed.

Stayed hear a few times over the last few years and once again not disappointed. Reception staff very welcoming, dinner and breakfast excellent, perfect location and staff all very professional and pleasant, rooms in need of a refurbishment but perfect for a 2 night stay and the price. We got a 2night stay with dinner on first night and breakfast on both mornings for 160 excellent value. Already planning our next visit.
