The staff are good.the facilities in the pool changing rooms were filthy. There is several years of grime in each shower cubicle. There are no seats in the grounds at all ( unbelievable). We have stayed several times but this one was the last.

I had booked a double room which had been given to someone else so ended up in a twin which wasn’t ideal. Reception gave me a free breakfast by way of apology which in the end I didn’t eat so in hindsight a partial refund would have been preferred. The hotel and rooms in general could do with an update, paint, carpets etc. I guess in its current standard I would say £80 is a little excessive but it is nothing some TLC couldn’t fix to take it back to its former standards.

The room standard cleanliness & decor was a major disappointment. For £100 per night I expected a lot more. Room 444 needs a lot of work to charge that kind of money. The bathroom was crummy dirt & grime in the corners. The toilet seat was stained. Awful I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

stressful stay

we were charged twice for a meal (paid on booking) then charged again at bar for the same meal. Meal was not very appetising (pork was burnt) the charges for drinks and soft drinks had been charged to our room which we didn't have. This was taken off eventually after showing that I had paid for the only drinks we has had when we had them. Luckily we had paid by card/applepay and not cash as this would have been a problem. we however know that the bill for drinks/soft drinks were charged to the wrong room as we didn't have any soft drinks

Good position, nice staff, hotel slightly tired

The hotel sits on the A6 but double glazing ensures no road noise. The staff are friendly and helpful but in places the hotel is slightly tired. We needed to switch rooms as the window would not close completely and let in a major draught, the new room ok but cobwebs on the light fitting and a bedside lamp not working plus only one chair in a double bedroom.

Friendly staff, room safe did not work, drinks were extremely expensive (£24 for two large glasses of white wine). Apart from wine, the stay was value for money.

The hotel is well presented and the staff are welcoming and helpful we really enjoyed breakfast the staff made a dull morning alot brighter. The spa and pool were really nice, however the lockers in the male changing rooms could do with some work. The room we was in was clean and tidy and as you would expect but as my title says the heating seemed to kick in, in the early hours of the morning. We soon realised that there was a control on the radiator which we promptly turned off but it was too late our sleep was disturbed. We did open the window to allow some cool air in which allowed us to get back to sleep.

I thought that maybe you should have had more staff serving during the day and night. The hotel was quite busy due to paramedic training, guide dogs for the Blind conference and we had booked several family rooms as we had travelled for a funeral. The service was very slow and we were waiting quite a while for food and drinks both at lunch time and evening meals. Your available staff did the best they could Under the circumstances I just feel there should have been more bar staff due to the amount of hotel guests. Also a number of guests got their cars symphoned of petrol overnight, one car belonging to our party. Maybe your security procedures need to be looked at as security guards did not appear to be patrolling and there is a lack of security cameras.

We have stayed in this hotel on two occasions before, it is very convenient and suited our purpose. However the food for the evening menu was not very good. The breakfast was excellent though and the Staff were very helpful and attentive
