Superb room, great package deal with dinner with wine included. Evening meal was great quality and good service. Such a shame about the Tier 3 rules coming into force making breakfast a take-away. Possibly the breakfast options could be improved under these circumstances to allow for pre-ordering with room delivery. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Very pleasant staff.

The hotel employees provided a very good and friendly customer service. The 'front of house' areas of the hotel are very well decorated. Back of house and rooms are not in keeping with the front and require redecoration. The standard of service received at breakfast was not consistent.

The staff in the hotel are responsible and pleasant always. I would love to thank Merry and Kailey for their excellent service. Food needs to be improved. At least some fruits should be included in the breakfast.

Room Tired

For me it is essential that a hotel room is clean, particularly during this unprecedented time you need the confidence that your room has been thoroughly cleaned. Unfortunately not the case here. Apart from a laminated flyer, which was sticky, there was no other signs or indication that the room had been sanitized. The bathroom in particular was very tired with dirty limescale on the shower screen and in the toilet. The grout line in the floor and sealant around the bath contained mould and dirt and just general staining and marks that indicated it had been wiped rather than cleaned. The toilet seat had been wiped on top but not lifted and cleaned underneath. In addition the bed had one very thin pillow each and there were 3 small milk pots for 2 people. This is minor and reception sent more without a problem but I felt you should not need to have asked in the first place. We were only there for one night otherwise would have booked alternative accommodation and left. A very disappointing stay.

We had an enjoyable stay . The first night was disturbed by loud music coming from the room above. Reception sorted the problem . The rest of the stay was quiet. The restraunt served nice meals.

Great relaxing few days away with excellent service, food and drink. Staff were brilliant as usual with a special mention to Craig, Sylvia and the ladies on reception (sorry forgot your names) for going above and beyond to make our weekend really enjoyable. Also a special mention to the chef who provided wonderfully tasty freshly cooked meals especially the lamb and the steak in the evening. The place is so relaxed that even in these times of COVID you can still feel comfortable in your surroundings. Thanks also to the bar staff who were very attentive and made sure you got a drink when your wanted one. Thanks once again and we will look forward to another visit in the very near future.

Not Covid Ready

Appalling, the room smelt of stale cigarettes, the bathroom was filthy, I have the photos to prove it. The bed was lumpy and extremely uncomfortable, breakfast was late in starting. I ended my stay after one night and moved to another local hotel.

Room was comfortable and clean. Shower was good. We didn't stay for the breakfast down to two factors, the staff were under pressure taking orders and £16 for breakfast with an additional cost for coffee or tea was rather excessive for a motel. We saw a couple leave the restaurant because they could not order. It took us 1 hour to secure a cab for a 4 mile journey. It has always been a handy hotel to stay in when we come to see our family, perhaps more staff would have made the morning run smoother.

The staff at the hotel were all amazingly attentive and friendly in what must be a very difficult time for working in a hotel. We were staying on the All Inclusive offer and were very impressed with the food, an upgrade on the room, check in at 12noon, the range of alcoholic and soft drinks on offer and the covid readiness of the hotel. We would stay again were we in the area and will consider other Mercure hotels for stays in other areas.

The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were friendly. Great hotel room, felt quite safe. The food was another matter though. I had burger and fries, when I tipped the last of the fries onto my plate, a prawn came out too. Good job I wasn’t allergic to sea food. The staff member was very apologetic. My husband had a pizza, which was a bit doughy. When we got to bed, the people upstairs were very noisy and were clomping about. We had to call reception 6 times. Not very good when we’d traveled a fair way and really needed a sleep. Again the staff were very apologetic, and I appreciate that it’s not their fault.

Always a pleasure to stay here, great value and friendly staff. For hotel accommodation in this bracket one really can't fault what they provide. I am a travel journalist, a world critic and a live current affairs reporter, I have never experienced in this category of star and opposition chains such wonderful attention to detail - as did every guest. Not a single frown was seen - the staff and this particular hotel should be recognised as your flagship hotel - training etc was spot on the food was outstanding as was the drinks on the all inclusive. The team worked efficiently and an extremely happy crew. I would be very disappointed to find a bad review against this hotel.
