We have stayed at the Hotel many times but this time i have to say the food was not good at all i had the chicken and ribs, the chicken was overcooked and very dry the ribs were crunchy as they had also een overcooked and the chips were undercooked, on a posertive note the new IPA that you have is very good

We could hear absolutely everything as the rooms wall are paper thin When we arrived no acknowledgement about our loyalty status, the fact that the room was free (FBB) so it's a bit dangerous that the team doesnt know they had to take a voucher from us, it could result in free rooms being given to stranger, as Silver we should have got late checkout and drink voucher , we got neither of it which tells me the team is not trained on the ALL scheme. Team polite to the bear minimum, when we passing by they dont even glance up to welcome anyone. I didnt feel welcome

Booked three night stay for business. Opted for privilage room for advertisied extras: Nespresso machine no capsules supplied during entire stay (asked three times and emailed once) bathrobe and slippers, free soft drinks - only provided after emailing on first evening. Hot towel rack (in room 302) not working. Air con / heater not working (radiator provided) Musty smell in room on entry (cleared after night with window open). Food in bar very limited, with some options running out. Food quality overall was not great, meat balls served unevenly heated (obviously microwaved). Some staff excellent, others rather indifferent. TBH expected better of Accor hotel.

Booked 16 rooms for wedding guests. Grandmas room flooded shower was blocked. Family room bed was not made up. Could NOT book early book in time for two rooms where guest were travelling from a far. Receptionist was so unhelpful and not very welcoming. Was charged for two rooms as they could not find the number we were staying in. Utterly unprofessional. My stress level over the hotel was to the point of crying. Hand on heart would not use them again.

Easy check, good service, clean, helpful staff and a good location for our purpose. The breakfast could have been hotter but they were busy.

Very noisy was woken up multiple times by drunken people knocking on my door looking for there room. I went to bed at 11.30 and was woken a further 4 times during the night twice with people knocking on my door. I dont think i will stay there again

My room was the furthest away as possible from reception. When my card was set up at reception it wasn’t set up correctly on 3 occasions. Therefore It meant I walked to and from the room on 6 occasions. The shower did not work fully. There were two shower heads. One overhead (large) and the other smaller head which was fixed to a sliding pole. Only the latter worked and because it was small there was hardly any water coming out. Considering I was at the hotel as I was playing in a sporting competition: I was pretty disappointed at not being able to wash and I couldn’t wash my hair. The shower area seemed to smell of drains too - which spilled over into the room.

I spent the evening here in March 2022 for a business trip Overall the hotel is good, food and bar good but what impressed me the most was the staff - in particular Janis who was possibly the most helpful and friendly member of a hotel staff I have ever met Will definitely be back

The room was spacious and clean, but as far away from Reception as you could go, which meant a very long walk.

I will tell everyone not to bother the room stunk of cigarette smoke, the receptionist wasn't helpful at all just looked at me and said I can't find your reservation, id paid over £140 for that we left as soon as we arrived avoid it like the plague!!!! And I will be getting a refund take a look at my Google reviews there's a few followers on there.

Dear twoodward876 I am sorry you had to write this review. My staff are usually complimented on their level of service to guests, this is most unusual. We have a strict non smoking policy in the hotel, all windows in rooms are opened during and after servicing. I will contact you via email.

Miles away from anything Pillows were flat as a pancake No aircon or fans in the room as sun comes straight through window Breakfast was a joke waited an hour to get served and to charge 13.99 for that was a rip off

Dear smudger120 I am sorry you did not like the location of the hotel. The location is clear in all of our advertising, most people favour the location due to its accessibility to major motorways. We would have replaced or offered more pillows, if we were made aware of your displeasure. Unfortunately, our hotel does not offer air conditioning and neither to we advertise the fact. Fans are available, if requested, from reception. Service is taking longer than normal, this is due to staff shortages and new staff being trained.

Always a pleasure to stay here, great value and friendly staff. For hotel accommodation in this bracket one really can't fault what they provide. It hasn't been easy for hoteliers during this time but at the Mercure Hatfield they have found a way to offer hospitality that meets this business travellers needs.

All inclusive stay - Bar/ Restaurant/ reception staff were brilliant. They couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. Due to the Covid situation the buffet dinner is replaced by a bar menu - The food choices were limited and had high supplement charges where a bit steep. But all in all a pleasant stay and a day out trip to St Albans.
