I haven't stayed here for a while but was reminded on this stay that it's one of the best IBIS hotels I have been in. The rooms are large (for an IBIS) and comfortable, the staff very helpful and the breakfast more than adequate. The location is right opposite Leiden station so it's near the town centre and easy to get anywhere, inside or outside of Leiden.

Good location. Near the centre. If that was a 'deluxe' room I dread to think what the 'standard' room is like. The room smells of unwashed sheets, the toilet bowl is brown. The TV is very very tiny. The bed is 160 by 200 cm. It is not a spacious suite bed how they call it. Both 'standard' and the 'deluxe' room are the same size. Wonder what the difference is? The price... Ok it is a 3 star but it still could have been clean. It is outdated. The receptionist was not very forthcoming. She saw that we were busy ordering a taxi but choose not to inform us that the taxi could not stop at the main entrance of the hotel. If she would have done this would have been very helpful. The other receptionist, she did not bother to put the invoice in an envelope. We had to do it ourselves. Weird. Ok for one night it is ok but did not expect all of this.

The rooms definitely need updating. I don’t mind small rooms, but when paying quite a high price the decor should be attractive. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was OK. The situation is very good , right beside the railway and bus stations, and the hotel was amazingly quiet.

I stayed a second time in the Ibis hotel in Leiden. Opposite the main railway station and I discovered a parking garage at only a 6 minutes walk from the hotel. City centre 10-15 minutes walking distance. Now let’s talk noice. Is there a noice? Well, opposite the main railway station (great view), you cannot expect the silence like in a forest. With the window closed, and a well functioning air conditioning, no problems at all. Will come again next year.

There aren't much to say about the rooms. We stayed for only one days so we took the smallest one with one two-person bed. It is just in the centre and like 30 seconds from Leiden Centraal by walking. The view was amazing with the train passing by and all the bikes parked in one line but I guess it is a common view in Netherlands :) It was our first day in Netherlands and the other day we went to our first home in our Netherlands journey. The breakfast was rich with a lot of options and they were all fresh. Not much to expect it was peaceful and gave what we expected and maybe more with the great breakfast we had.
