Rooms were great - I know that the restaurant is temporarily relocated - but the service was very poor. The breakfast was cold.... The yoghurt was "warm"maybe offer small potles instead of one big bowl that was not even on ice. Alot of dirty cups - no clean glasses or cups to use. Your staff were very unfriendly when we did see them...Very dissappointing

I'm a travel agent, so I used my STAR rate - first time I've ever done so! But felt it was important to see a hotel room near the airport that I can recommend to my clients, and have sold a lot via my Expedia/ANZCRO and Go Holidays links in the past. We checked in early, and were happy to pay an additional fee for doing so. The check-in agent that checked me in almost forgot to give me key cards to the room? I had to prompt him? Okay, maybe he is just new. The Rooms themselves - WOW - no wonder you get rave reviews from customers. What an unexpected surprise at an airport. The view over Manukau Harbour from the Executive Rooms was amazing, the beds comfortable and the bathroom was great once I found the light switches. Beautiful place. As part of my staff special I was found a rate that included breakfast and was keen to see what the buffet would be like. I have to admit I was underwhelmed by the food, especially when the charges were so high. I will be telling guests to head across to the Gypsy Moth at the Domestic Terminal or one of the other eateries in the terminal. I realise this might change when you have upgraded your restaurant in the near future, so I will give it another try when I am next in Auckland and it has been completed. The F&B agent said that he couldn't see us on the list of 'breakfast guests' but he let us in while he made calls. He came back offering a discounted rate, but I had to show him the confirmation email I had received stating very clearly that breakfast was included on my special rate - perhaps because I've sold the rooms multiple times?? Immediately after breakfast I sent my partner back to the room, and marched down to reception. I smiled, and greeted the lovely Miranda who was attentive and listened and understood the situation very well. She was a breath of fresh air and is going to do very well in the industry I'm sure (give her a raise or a night off on the company or something to encourage her along). Unfortunately her Duty Manager, Kayla, was the complete opposite. I don't like conflict, and I like it less in a public space. Kayla on the other hand, raised her voice, frowned and had very bad body language showing how frustrated she was. She offered to meet me 'half way' but I again had to stand my ground, and read out the email confirmation I had stating breakfast was included in the special rate I booked through the website. I did give her the benefit of the doubt, and said something like "look, if I'm wrong and I've misunderstood something, I'm happy to pay and apologise - but in this situation I just don't think I'm wrong". She said something back like "Staff rates don't ever include breakfast" - but I don't think she stopped to think that perhaps I wasn't Accor staff... I was a travel agent selling her product and that my special might be different? I don't know. Either way, her delivery was less than ideal. Perhaps on your next one on one with her, let her know that she shouldn't have to have an argument with any customer, and all she needed to say was.... "look there has been some sort of misunderstanding today... have it on us and we will look into it for you..." After all, if it was my mistake I had already offered to pay later. So that soured the experience somewhat. However, Miranda put a smile on my face when I did check out and treated me with respect and warmly so I appreciated that - and the rooms - just great - happy to continue selling them to my clients that mainly hail from the USA. Pleasant stay apart from contractors knocking on my door while still checked in - not appreciated at 9am when checkout was 11am and definitely not cool after a long haul flight.

I reached the airport way past midnight. Checking in was prompt and efficient. Room was clean and reasonably quiet unlike my previous experience at Toronto Airport hotel. The best thing is they allowed me to check out at 3pm the next day, giving me ample time to wash up and not feeling short changed from a short hot stay. Excellent. Will recommend.

I stayed at the Christchurch Novetel which had much more comfortable beds,my accommodations at the Auckland location seemed a little in need of a "updo" or freshening up. Interior of my room seemed a little tired.

The hotel itself was OK. But checking in was robotic and the staff weren’t particularly friendly. I asked about the hotel, internet etc, but the staff member was more interested in signing me up for accor’s membership. Got woken up very early with jack hammering from the restaurant in the hotel. Wasn’t warned on this at check in or by a note. It resulted in me having 2 hours sleep. Then, I got a car from the front of the hotel, and someone came running out from the hotel shouting at my driver and telling him he can’t pick people up from here. Then he felt the need to lecture us both on the rules of the airport while the jack hammering continued in the background. Perhaps if your staff cared a little more about looking after their guests needs rather than telling off their guests and signing them up to the membership club, it might have been better.

Easy to walk to across from arrivals, shame the restaurants were in renovation so only had a conference room makeshift restaurant. Not bad but would not write home about.

I have to say that up until this stay I had found the food at the Novotel Auckland Airport very average. I know a lot of other people did too. But the room service dinner we had was amazing this time - so good. I don't know what changes you've made but they have worked!

As always, nothing to find fault with when staying here. Polite and welcoming staff (even when checking in at midnight), fast and easy check-in, room clean and at a comfortable temperature, great selection at breakfast, very good gym to help shake the jet lag. You pay a bit more to stay here when compared to other hotels near the airport, but it is definitely worth it.

My experience was great although I did miss the “normal” restaurant (understand we all need renovations) - I didn’t use the restaurant in the evening as the menu was extremely limited and the space has no ambiance.
