This ibis is a bit strange. The reception area is tiny and does not have the "warm atmosphere" that I am used to in an ibis. This also applies to the breakfast area. There is no elevator. Fortunately, I only had a light trolley. If you have luggage, ask to stay at the ground floor. Otherwise, you need to carry it up the stairs. The first room where I arrived had some faulty light over the desk, and I needed to work. The staff solved the problem by moving me to another room (222), and there the internet was very slow. Not sure I was given the premium wifi that my Platinum status entitles me to. Also, the number of credited points for my 2 nights seems to be extremely low, when compared with other ibis where I stayed. In the second morning (Sunday), the breakfast area was very busy, and I noticed that some food that has ended was not being replaced. The location is also not a lovely area, but that is not uncommon with other units of the Accor Group.
Dear Mr. B., thank you for your detailed review. Our lobby and the bistro is renovated in the newest Ibis style called "Plaza", you will find it in many other Ibis Hotel around the world. 60 % of our rooms are accessible at ground level if you also ue the side entrances of the top of our parking. We apologize for the WiFi but we don't have different WiFi-levels. The lower point credit results of a minimized invoice as you used some points for the payment. Today I passed another 40 courtesy points to your ALL account. Nevertheless we would be pleased to welcoming you again in Melsungen and for further questions do not hesitate to contact us! There was two of us who are both disabled, I have only one proper leg, and my friend has problems with his mobility. We were allocated a room on the third floor, and as there was no lift, we asked the clerk on the arrival desk if he could reallocate us to a room on the Ground Floor because of our disabilities, the person refused, not giving us a reason. The Clerk said we could use an emergency exit door which would save us one flight of stairs. Looking at the Car Park and the number of guests at Breakfast, the Hotel looked very quiet. BREAKFAST - The breakfast was very good, but the room was swarming in wasps which were near and, in the Jams, and other food. The windows to the room should have been closed. This experience has put my friend and myself staying at Ibis Hotels.

I arrived late after a long drive; the welcome was super friendly. The water damage to the ceiling in the hallway was fought with a bucket in the hallway. The mice in the stairwell were cute.

Arrived very late at the hotel, as I travelled from Ireland through France to Germany. So I was looking for a hotel in the lower price segment to get some sleep in, as I still had few hundred miles left to drive. Upon arrival, the front desk member was very welcoming and super friendly - which gave the stay a complete different level of experience. The room was as expected at an ibis, nothing special but comfy beds and very clean. Thanks again for a pleasant experience, and kudos to the front desk member (sorry, cannot remember your name) for an outstanding, out-of-norm experience. If I ever need to stay in the region again, I'll certainly will come back!
