We arrived on a Sunday 5pm before a public holiday. Receptionist was on phone chatting for a considerable amount of time. A wedding party entered and were also waiting to speak to her. Although the receptionist was pleasant, It was one of the longest check in processes I’ve experienced. When we came back at 0130am, the outside doors would not open with our key. We rang the after hours number and the person who answered sounded annoyed. It took him ages to come to re-code the keys. There was no apology for the inconvenience. On another note, the bar and restaurant were closed on a Sunday and public holiday Monday so this also detracted from our stay.

I was contacted prior to arrival by phone which I appreciated. I asked for a light cotton blanket to be provided instead of the usual doona on the bed. This was not done. Therefore overheated during night time. Worst of all on the Sunday of the weekend I was there, there was no bar open or dining available. This is totally unacceptable for house guests. And your dining and room service I was told finishes at 9pm on Friday and Saturday, so no chance to get something when I returned from my festival shows. It was exhausting traipsing around trying to find something else open elsewhere. The shower head in the shower kept collapsing. Needs maintenance. Hotel guests on my floor banging doors and speaking loudly at 5am Sunday morning.

I travel each week for work. I stay in at least two hotels a week. This hotel was very overpriced relative to nearly all hotels I stay in. This would have been ok were it not for the really unclean state of the room. For a start it smelled moldy and sour. The floor had debris left on it and dust and grim in all corners. Bedding and curtains were stained as was the carpet. It was also sticky. The bathroom was also grimy. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, but this hotel stay fell below acceptable standards.

The room was comfortable enough but a bit dated. The bed was comfortable however, I slept very well. Air conditioner is a bit weak, thankful that it wasn't any warmer.
