Excellent hotel in the heart of CBD, Casino Railway station and restaurant's all close by, the staff were very helpful with a last-minute booking, the room was very comfortable & clean, car park below the hotel was a bonus.

Old common areas, old dingy room, fruit flies present in room, in need of a total refurbishment. No water, or other consumables (except tea & coffee). Breakfast even paid for wasn't consumed due to poor menu choice, cereal in a box plus milk that was about all was on offer, had and paid for breakfast else ware and enjoyed it. Only redeeming features was parking, central location and polite staff. Such a shame as I have stayed at many Accor hotels but this was the worst experience.

Dear Michael, While I'm pleased to read you found our staff friendly and location great, it however saddened me to read that was all you liked about your stay with us. We were saddened to read that your room and the hotel was not up to expectations as while we are unable to deny the general condition of the room and hotel given its age, the hotel conducted a de-branding exercise in 2021 by removing the Mercure brand and returning the hotel to its original name the Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide to enable us to reposition it as an economy hotel in the twilight of its existence as the intention is to completely redevelop the property in the not-too-distant future. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very cold and we couldn’t find how to adjust the temperature. Our room was also very noisy, I don’t know if it was from the air vent.

Unfortunately, we have a centralised air-conditioning system at the hotel, due to which we do not have individual temperature controls in the room. Our overall experience was great. Staff, room & location excellent for our purposes. The only negative is that there was only one lift operational, which was also the case with our last stay. I look forward to the restaurant reopening & room service being available, if this is amongst future plans, as pre covid, it was a welcome addition to have this as an option.

I am delighted to read that you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed your visit at our hotel, especially the service provided by our teams here and I 100% agree with you on our location being excellent, very close to everything the Adelaide CBD has to offer. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconveniences caused by one of the lifts being out of order during your stay. Unfortunately, being a very old lift, she requires parts that aren't made anymore and take a while to source from our lift company. We are working with them to resolve the issue as soon as possible. I am also apologetic about the recent changes to our hotel with our restaurant closing down indefinitely, this was not a decision made lightly, alternately we have arranged for external dining at local restaurants, I'm sorry this was not explained at check-in. Thank you again for telling us about your experience. Overall, we hope you had a pleasant stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future for a return visit to our hotel.
