This hotel was a great location. Had parking (albeit had to pay to have my car parked!), friendly staff, comfortable rooms. I had to take some medication and had to have a piece of bread or a couple of crackers and the amazing lady in the dining room helped me out (and made me feel much better!!). I will definetly stay again!! Thank you.

Putting in writing a complaint towards one of your staff this afternoon 11 Dec 2025 At approximately 5:30-5:45pm my wife and I were returning to the hotel from our iwi strategy meeting walking down the bridge road into the hotel car park exit. We were talking away and not super aware of our surroundings and then noticed a stationary car in the driveway. The driver of the car accelerated towards us and my first thought was that they had accidentally put their foot on the accelerator instead of the brake, however, the driver then proceeded to remark sarcastically “this is a road” and made me realise that the driver had accelerated towards my wife and I on purpose as an intimidation tactic, as an aggressive move to scare us into getting out of his way. We responded calmly but matching sarcasm saying “are you alright? You could have just talked to us. That’s not cool”. The driver ignored us and drove out the car park exit. We then realised that the driver was one of the hotels staff and was parking a customers car as we saw the car come into the parking lot across from the entrance. At that point we were very disappointed with his behaviour but we carried on and went to our room to get changed. 5min later we went back to the exit to go to dinner at the Novotel and saw the staff member behind the desk on level G. We then talked to the staff member to say that his actions were uncalled for and should have been handled in a number of different ways that would not have been aggressive and potentially dangerous. He sarcastically replied “Sorry” and then tried to ignore us again. At that point I decided that I wanted to pass this onto a manager and went and asked for the manager to talk to them. I was given Asha’s name and found her at Level G. Asha gave me her email address to send this complaint. If you need to call me to discuss that is okay with me. If not, that is fine also. We don’t normally lay formal complaints however, in this instance we felt that it was necessary as we believed the behaviour that was exhibited was completely not acceptable and the avoidance of responsibility meant that we could either walk away and let it go or inform a manage.
