Stayed one night for work and from the moment we checked in the staff were incredibly and naturally friendly. Wait staff at dinner and breakfast were hospitable, polite and good humoured, plus that Rewana bread with the black garlic butter is unbelievable.

Novotel Hamilton The location of the hotel is convenient, the staff are friendly and the decor is appealing but that’s where it ended for us. My partner is a long term Accor member and despite requesting a good view in our booking we were given a very basic room with a view of a brick wall. While everyone knows that requests are not guaranteed, you would like to think there could be just a bit more of an effort for members. The room was incredibly plain and small, and really expensive at $360 per night (mid week). It was devoid of any amenities at all. No mini bar, no toiletries, not even a shower cap. Apparently these are only for ‘executive rooms’ but at this price that is seriously stingy and it isn’t stated anywhere when you book. Didn’t stop the hotel taking a $50 fee in case we used something and didn’t pay for it though. The food in the restaurant was ok but the service was painfully slow. The breakfast buffet was not appealing. A very ordinary hotel for the price.
