We had a 2 night stay in Oxford. On arrival we were unable to park in the car park as it was full, however we were assisted with our luggage and directed to a nearby city car park. Our stay included breakfast and evening meal. The breakfast was plentiful a with many choices, the evening menu although limited was delivered to a high standard.

Regularly stay at Mercure and past experience has been good but a noisy ventilation system that was not dealt with resulted in this trip being unpleasant. Reported on checking in the first night and was later told the issue had been resolved. Returned in the evening to find they had just turned the system off. |Reported the next morning again and asked to be moved if not repaired only to return after a function to find nothing had been done. I had been back to the hotel at 13h00 to change and had to get my access card reprogrammed and nothing was said at that stage.

Decent quality hotel. Really nice shower. Some of the facilities in the room were a bit hard to use, e.g. the curtains didn't move very freely. Some of the signage is a bit poor, e.g. finding your way in initially if arriving from the High St, and figuring out how the bar works late in the evening.
Great location. Needs some TLC in places. Breakfast average.

Great location and was therefore a reasonable price. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Croissants were excellent but not much of a range was available otherwise and it wasn’t replenished well. Hotel generally needs some TLC. Rooms and hallways are tired. Our room was also very dusty. Toiletries replenished on day 2 but dirty cups & glasses left. Beds not made either. Overall it was the location that made it for us and the room was spacious.
Friendly atmosphere, particularly pleasant common space.

My request for separate beds (as I was travelling with my adult son) was lost in the shuffle though the hotel had replied to my reminder that the bedroom was being prepared according to my wishes. My daughter and husband had separate beds but had arrived a day before so changing with them would have been a hassle. (Their name is different so this couldn't have been a question of confusion.). The odor of mildew in the hallway leading to the rooms on the parking lot was a shock particularly as I have had an allergic reaction to it. Fortunately our bedroom 401 didn't seem to be affected.
