I often have to stay in Shrewsbury due to work and quite often our company hire out this hotel for conferences and meetings. Having stayed at several in the area this is always my preferred choice. On arrival and thought out my stay all staff were very happy and welcoming. On this occasion I was given a room in the stable block, on arrival the room was very large and nicely decorated. The only slight issue with the room was a crack in the sink so it could do with replacing. It was very hot weather and the were two potable fans in the room so they were very much appreciated. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The bar food in the evening was ok and reasonable but I would not recommend the crab linguine, but the pizza I had on the 2nd night was good and the burgers being delivered to other tables also looked very nice. The grounds are amazing and it was lovely to sit outside in the gardens with a cold pint after a hard days work. I’m due back in Shrewsbury a couple of times in the coming month and I will definitely be booking this hotel again.

Very good stay

Accessible Room This Was Not Changes Need To Be Made......

We were staying here as my daughter who is blind with additional needs was performing at a special charity gig in Shrewsbury, we had been booked into an accessible twin room which was situated in a separate building from the main Manor House! I think it was called The Old School House as you walk in it's pleasant enough, our room was bright spacious clean tidy with the usual amenities you'd expect! Two comfortable twin beds other than size though it definitely wasn't accessible though, the bathroom again although a good size there was no anti slip bath mats either outside or inside the bath! No hand rails or even an emergency cord which are all standard for an accessibility room, the only form of contact was a phone connected to reception which was situated on the dressing table and was an old fashioned model so couldn't be carried around the room! We arrived early evening ordered some food which was tasty but nothing spectacular, my daughter had settled down she was very tired the heat and journey had wiped her out! I was winding down too when I heard a lot of noise and just assumed it was a couple returning from a night out, possibly a little worse for wear unfortunately for us the floorboards were beyond creaky so you could hear every movement! I thought they'll settle down soon so at first gave them the benefit of the doubt, until the bed creaking and moans started again I thought that had to stop too! I mean eventually there had to be a climax! sadly though this wasn't to be either he just wasn't getting her there! I shouted up informing them that I could hear absolutely everything! they woke my daughter up too which meant I had to be awake too! The noise continued too getting louder and louder, not just the bed moans but also the floorboards creaking relentlessly I shouted up a second time! Still they carried on my daughter was crying at this point too, so I was left with no other choice but to call reception and get them to deal with the issue! It took quite a while to get through to them too so again if there was an issue, you'd be screwed after that I'm assuming someone dealt with them as it finally went quiet! After quite a while of calming my distressed upset daughter we both managed to drift off again! That is until checkout the next morning where they disturbed us yet again! luckily we had a lazy day before her performance! So as I was up I decided to order some breakfast which was delicious especially the full English and cereal, sadly the toast wasn't toasted though and was like bread which was disappointing! There was plenty of choice though and honestly I couldn't eat it all, we stayed for two nights and our second night's sleep was more peaceful thankfully! Sadly the breakfast not so much the hotel ran out of tomato ketchup, and the toast still bread maybe there's a problem with there toaster! The grounds surrounding were stunning too our room had a beautiful view from the windows too it's just a shame about the noisy neighbours......

Excellent spa treatments

My daughter and I had a spa day together yesterday. I would like to thank our therapist Louise who was wonderful. We enjoyed two treatments each, facial and body massage for myself. Head massage and pedicure for my daughter. Louise put us at ease straight away, delivered our sessions with respect and was very knowledgeable about our treatments. It was the best massage I have ever had especially on my back. The treatment rooms were very clean and comfortable. Water was available to help yourself after treatment. Thank you Louise for making our day the best

Problem with room sorted very well

The room we were first allocated - number 12 - was supposed to be a superior double but wasn’t even a satisfactory standard. But the reception staff sorted this very quickly and relocated us to a lovely room. Location is beautiful and the staff all very friendly and welcoming x
