Wonderful experience

This hotel is absolutely wonderful, I would class this as a 5 star hotel to be completely honest. The room we stayed in was like an oldy worldy feel with wooden beams on ceiling. Room was a great size and had all you need in it. Bathroom was also really big. The grounds are big and really beautiful a perfect place for a wedding. We booked the evening meal and I was honestly not expecting what I received. The food was of Michelin star standard's beautifully presented and tastes out of this world. Every one of my family loved the food they ordered. Every staff member where amazing and so friendly. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. Can't forget about the breakfast there was everything you could want hot and cold breakfast on offer plus more. Will definitely recommend to anyone. Well-done to everyone involved

Lovely setting, beautiful evening meal

We stayed using a Wowcher. Our room was number 15. This is a spacious room with large bedroom area and huge bathroom (the shower screen needs replacing as the bottom seal is black). We were a little disappointed to be overlooking the bins but Hey Ho. Worse than that though was the fact this room has the air con system on a flat roof outside the window. If you are not used to an intermittent loud fan noise which is in for about 8 mins and then goes off for about 3 minutes ALL NIGHT (yes I timed it) then this room is not for you. We hardly slept. The receptionist wasn’t in the least bit bothered when we complained in the morning so I guess it was our tough luck. Anyway, apart from the room the pool area is lovely and the saunas are wonderful. We didn’t have a pound coin for the lockers but the spa receptionist supplied one. Towels are supplied. The evening meal was superb!! Absolutely faultless. We both really enjoyed every morsel and Kelvin our waiter was lovely. We ordered Port with our cheese but they only had enough for one glass! Lol. Not sure we’d be back as we live over 2 hours away but would recommend staying here just not in room 15.

Dear Resort53832134878, Thank you for your review, I am pleased to hear that you have enjoyed our spa facilities and food in our Oak Room Restaurant. I am very sorry about the lack of sleep which you had and please rest assured the fan in questions will be looked at. Once again, please accept our apologies for the noise which you have encountered during the night in the room and I do hope that perhaps you will consider visiting us again in the near future. Warm regards, Elena Fenton Operations Manager

Nice enough!

This hotel is okay. Few miles outside Shrewsbury. Typical wedding venue hotel. Nice setting. I believe it’s been recently taken over. Bit tired in parts and lacking atmosphere in bar area. Our Privilege room was quite large and tidy but just lacking in atmosphere; a bit sparse. Pool area needs a tidy up. New steam room, sauna area was nice. Breakfast buffet style was nice enough but machine for tea and coffee. Just lacking a bit of finesse overall.

Dear SH61970, Thank you for your review, I am pleased to read that you have enjoyed your stay with us and I truly hope you will consider staying with us again, should you ever be in the Shropshire area. Kind regards, Elena Fenton Operations Manager

The only problem I had was that I could not get a meal from 8:45 PM so we had to drive into Shrewsbury which turned out to be nice and we ended up having a nice meal, but I would have preferred to eat in the Hotel.
