All was clean and tidy in the bedroom and staff were friendly and helpful. The one criticism I would have is that nearly all the hot food for breakfast was cold or just about warm!

From first entering the hotel to leaving it was an excellent stay. The staff were friendly and efficient and as we were staying for my husband’s birthday gave us a lovely room. Food was really nice in lovely surroundings

I have been dealing with Lisa FAULKNER as we have rooms booked until 4Th January, she has been a massive help and so accommodating. The front of house staff have also been, very polite and helpful.

Mattress had ridges and springs pushing into our backs and we did not sleep, waking with severe back pain. Asked for a manager to come and feel the mattress rather than just complain. Reception said they would come in a few minutes. Fifteen minutes later no manager so went to reception, checked out and asked for it to be reported and email me feedback. Nothing received. What appalling customer service! Will cancel my booked December stay and won’t stay here again.

Arrived and 1 and the friendly member of the team happily stowed our bags for us. Arrived back a bit later and checked in and we were met by another friendly member of the team, both very professional. He explained the beakfast times and where it was and where the lifts were to take us to our room. Lovely large clean room and an extreemly comfortable bed. The hotel is 10 minutes from the station with plently of restaurants across the way and the O2 is just round the corner which is where we were heading. The breakfast is of a very good standard and plently of choice. This is my second stay there and I would definately return.

Stayed in your hotel a good few times now. But slightly disappointed this time as we was told our check in at 2 so after our spa treatment which ended 3pm went to check in but room was still not ready, we had arranged to meet family and friend at 4.30 so needed time to get ready. Our room finally ready at 4.45 made us late for our other reservation

Paula in reception was very attentive, has a smile on her face every time we spoke to her and was helpful and welcoming. Both Paula & the Asian lady were approachable and helpful. This sort if welcome always starts any stay a better experience.

Enjoyed the stay but parking the car from hotel was a nightmare

Comfortable room with a good view of the peace gardens although the room was quite dated, good service, pleasant breakfast with gluten free toast provided but no GF cereals on offer. Enjoyed our stay.

There was hair all over the bathroom and even some in the bedsheets. None of it was mine - I have hair of a completely different texture. The hotel was not at capacity and I was really annoyed to be allocated a room opposite the lift. It was noisy all night and as a light sleeper I couldn’t sleep. I was only there for one night so did let the front desk know my experience was aping but, a clean, quiet room is a basic requirement.

Great location for Sheffield City Hall.

Standard room. Rang reception to obtain 2 pillowcases for pillows which didn't have any. Never arrived so had to sleep without pillowcases. No coffee sachets and only one biscuit to my husbands annoyance. TV remote battery cover missing and couldn't get to work on TV.

I stayed with my family on a Thursday. My brother and I were given key cards to a twin room (as booked). We went and unlocked the door we were told to, and upon entering found the room completely full of other people's stuff. Luckily the other people were not in there at the time! This was obviously quite embarrassing and quite stressful. We subsequently returned to reception and were told we had been given the wrong room, and we were actually in a room further down the corridor. After this hiccup, the stay was overall quite good, although the rooms were kept a bit too cold for my liking. Pool and facilities were delightful.

Post COVID Disappointment

I was a regular visitor to St Pauls prior to COVID and had hoped that the experience hadn't changed much. I was very wrong. Valet Parking - This has stopped and you now need to park in Q-Parking Late night meals and bar drinks - Bar shuts around 2330 and there is no option to get bar drinks after this time or to your room as you could before. There is a small fridge with basic selection, however once the till receipted this wasn't possible to purchase either. Breakfast in bed - Gone have the days when you could place a card on your door and have breakfast in bed at 0630. Dinner menu - This has gradually gone downhill over the last 5-6 years, however is at its worse at the moment. There are still some "ok" selections, however what used to be a good 4 star menu with fantastic food is now basic hotel simple menu. The only points that must be commended are the service from the staff, Matt and Terri in particular.

Booked two rooms for my daughters graduation. Her suite was not as nice as her last stay with poor views for photographs etc My room the tv did not work. Reported to reception by phone twice. An hour and a half later maintenance man came and confirmed it didn’t work! No offer of replacing it for us etc Hotel is central but the parking information is out of date on the website as the valet parking is no longer offered... I had trouble booking online and had to ring to confirm rooms as the website said it had not been able to complete the booking but the money was taken from the account.... I may try else where next time we stay over in Sheffield:-(

Rooms are very well sound proofed, so a good night's sleep,even though in the city centre. The real weakness is evening dining at the hotel. Service is very slow, so slow I now eat out of the hotel. This has occured on three occasions. Also, menu a bit limited and unexciting.

Good service at reception and nice welcome and service at breakfast. Plenty of choice at breakfast with freshly cooked eggs. Room very clean and comfortable. Bed looked lumpy but was actually comfortable although suggest time for a new duvet as that had defifinitely seen better days. Room very quiet. We have stayed a the St Paul's a coule of years ago and although still good not as a good as it was, looking a little tired and a few of the public areas need dusting/refreshing but what doesn't after the last year and a half.
