Our room was in a terrible state of repair. No heating. Sink blocked. View over the bins which were emptied at 5 am each morning. Stained carpet. Chipped furniture. Just terrible. Not to mention the room key cards that’s constantly needed re programming.
Unclean and shabby room, bathroom and public spaces

The bedroom carpet was dirty, clearly not hoovered for a long time. The fridge was dirty and mouldy. The wall behind the bed with a fabric wallpaper was covered in thick dust. The toilet was dirty. The kettle lid was broken. The carpet in the lobby, corridors and stairs needed hoovering.

My mother and I enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately our room was a bit dirty round the shower door and there was dust around the kettle area. And the Hotel does look like it needs updating. But a great location

We have stayed in this hotel on a number of previous occasions. We had hoped that the cleanliness of the hotel and in particular, the guests bedrooms, would have improved,having raised the issue before. How wrong ! The standard has deteriorated even more.The sealant around the bath is cracked and black with mould. The lounge chair is filthy, stained arms and very dusty. We had to move a bed to recovery a fallen item, the carpet under the bed appeared to have not been vacuumed for some considerable time, dust balls and bits of food. On the second day of our stay we returned to our room in afternoon, to find that it had not been serviced, in the ensuing discussion with reception, we were shown a small notice, that was not clearly visible when registering, that stated " room cleaning required booking in advance and were cleaned on the 3rd day of stay". Appalling service for a room costing over £136 for a twin room (Loyalty club member) We also booked a table in the restaurant for an evening meal, only to discover that it did not open in evenings despite being advertised. This hotel appears to be poorly managed and does not represent the usual and expected standards of Mecure. The location appears to attract visitors who will leave feeling disappointed, may having paid quite a high cost. It is with regret that we cannot recommend this hotel and will not stay again.
Cheeky Groupon night away

Anniversary night away. Friendly staff on arrival. Paid for wine and breakfast deal on groupon… the wine arrived too late and I did have to ask reception twice for it, should’ve been there on arrival really . The heating doesn’t work in room 214 so there’s a portable electric fan heater in the wardrobe which came in handy. Clean enough - although the cleaners had missed a prosecco cork under the desk from previous guests. Breakfast was amazing , friendly staff and cleanliness was good.
