Great location ... but that’s about it. Rooms so shabby and in great need of a revamp. We paid extra for a privilege room which was meant to have views over the Cathedral grounds. We had a view of a tree. It also stated a minibar with free soft drinks - we had two bottles of coke. Nespresso coffee machine was included albeit a very basic one only making espressos, I was expecting one with different varieties such as a cappuccino or even americano which we have had in other hotels. Lastly it stated we would receive a bathrobe and slippers - none of which we had. Towels were threadbare, shower with as little power as a watering can which leaked all over the floor. Pillows the size of a postage stamp. Lady on check in was friendly, we were sent to our room to check in but it hadn’t even been cleaned. Only book this hotel for the location, however next time I will research more into private guest houses in the area as feel the service will also be better

We stayed in a Privilege room which had fantastic views of the cathedral. The room itself was average, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean but some of the furniture was worn and damaged. The bathroom was okay but the shower didn’t have much pressure which was disappointing. The whole hotel is very tired and is in need of being refurbished. The staff were very helpful and always greeted us with a smile which made our stay very pleasant.

This was my first drive into Winchester and I was rather nervous but Google Maps helped me directly to the hotel and parking was very easy, but it is an extra cost. I was given a fabulous corner room with a view towards Winchester Cathedral plus a four poster bed so I was very happy. The staff were very polite and helpful, bearing in mind that as of October 2020 it is still in the middle of this wretched covid that has haunted the world all year. I booked through the phone number on the website and the guy gave me a discount if I joined Accor Hotels. No problem and I got an email regarding the price, luckily I reminded reception when arrived because they were going to charge me more. So do double check that what you book is what you get, this happens with a lot of hotels, AirBNB, motels and B&Bs.

Great location. Hotel needs updating. Room was dirty with stains on carpet and cobwebs on window. The room alarm went of 3 times during the night which ruined our stay. We therefore decided to cut short our stay. The management were kind enough to refund us one day.

Excellent location to all sites in Winchester and a clean, comfortable place to lay your head after a day of sightseeing.

Lovely room with a great view of the cathedral. However the breakfast was dire. We asked firs cooked breakfast on the first morning and it was inedible. It was dry and all overcooked. We did not have a cooked breakfast again during our stay and we were told they could not cook poached eggs for us. We also ordered an Irish coffee one evening but were told they had our cream! It was served with milk, yuk! Room was great however with a wonderful view of the cathedral.

Difficult to judge as I needed a base to work from for 4 days so did not use the facilities to the full. The room was comfortable, food good and above all a quiet location

As a Dr who travels for work and likes to stay in a more reputable chain I was discussed. I felt unsafe and sanitised everything before I felt confident to use it. Your hotel is tired and dirty. The mould in my shower and the filth around the base of the shower door was not good. The hot tap was not fastened to the sink. The cutlery in the restaurant was caked with food and had lip marks in spoons like someone had pulled them out of their mouths. I could go on and on. Your reception team are excellent, bubbly and personable, they don’t deserve to work in such a dump. Next time I will use the travelogue across the street.

The rooms were very dated and old with worn out carpets and furniture. The staff were lovely but really need some training as some of the questions asked were not answered correctly. I was charge for evening meal even though I didn't eat there which is still in dispute.

Understandable Covid restrictions aside (no room service - bed made, refreshments re-filled, clean towels, no bar etc) the stay was ok. The location is exceptional; the hotel though is dated and the rooms showed this. Disappointed that the 'Double' was two beds together - know it may make sense for flexibility but it is always a disappointment. Also I thought £12 per night for parking was excessive. But staff were good, check in swift and there were no big problems encountered.

Room was out of date, tv did not work, no bottle of wine in room (as advertised) and breakfast was very poor for a 4 * hotel.

The hotel is in a. Poor state. The room and passage carpets are worn and grubby. The staff are doing their best in difficult times. The breakfast was Not Good. The booking system is appalling. I presume in USA? A LONG DIATRIBE the hotel itself should be able to take its own reservations Not impressed

It was such a good visit. Rebekah and Caitlin were so helpful and welcoming. Our room was a little tired and needed a bit of a facelift. But this did not spoil our enjoyment. We had a fantastic view of the Cathedral from our room. We left the hotel planning when we can come back!
