Really disappointed with this run down Mercure hotel. Threadbare carpets , dirty breakfast room particularly around the windows. Room didn’t match the description as it hadn’t been updated like the photo’s. Badly in need of a revamp throughout.

I have spoken to the team and no one has any recollection of your comments at reception, its our mission to ensure all guests are happy and had they of been given to the team whilst here we would of done our utmost to move you straight away to a room you would be happy with. Im afraid I disagree with your comment about being a run down hotel, We have invested significant funds into the hotel in the last 12 months, refurbishing bedrooms, installing air conditioning in all bedrooms, and building a brand new apartment block (Open september this year) for guests to enjoy. in addition to this our lounge and public areas will be done towards the end of this year. Nice hotel. On site Car park and validate ticket in hotel for preferential rate. Centre of Salisbury close to cathedral , shops and restaurants . Lovely room. Privilege. Bath robes, slippers , coffee pods, fridge, lovely big bed. Quiet and comfortable. Air con - unusual in Uk hotels . Great breakfast. Self serve . Comfortable lounge area All staff friendly , accommodating and kind. Plenty of smiles. Very nice stay. Would recommend

This tea party was perfectly arranged by Sarah and Amanda.Every small detail was discussed and arranged professionally beforehand. On arrival on the afternoon of Wednesday 15th March my daughter and I walked into the party room to find everything beautifully set out with wonderful spring flowers on each table. All the guests were more than complimentary with the delicious afternoon tea and the helpful and cheerful staff.The tea consisted of a selection of sandwiches ,scones and cream, dainty cakes and pastries. Thank you to Sarah and Amanda for your organisation skills and cheerful meetings beforehand.

Very Tired Hotel - But staff are great

We booked a one night stay in the hotel. Surprised that we had to pay for parking (Although at a discounted rate) additionally there wasn't a great deal of parking. Check In was fine though the lady on reception could have been slightly more friendly. The whole Hotel is very tired the carpets in places are threadbare. The room was a double with very tired decoration. However it was clean. The configuration on room 221, was strange with the bed pushed up against a wall, I'm sure they could sort that out. Once we arrived back from our function we asked for a cup of tea and a different lady on the front desk could not have been more helpful in fact excellent. I also had a similar experience with the staff at breakfast. I would return once the hotel has been given a make over.

The majority of our rooms are now refurbished, with more planned towards the end of the year, we are currrently decorating our restaurant, and have plans to refurbish the lounge and public areas towards the end of summer.
