The staff are very friendly, especially the gentleman who helped with our check in. Unfortunately, I forgot his name. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We love the welcome gift (olive oil). The gym is decent.

We enjoyed our stay in Siracusa at the Mercure Prometeo. All personnel was extremely trained, supportive and available to address our requests. The breakfast was magnificent. The position is optimal for visiting Siracusa and the nearby local attractions.

The staff at this hotel were some of the kindest and warmest people I've met while traveling — not the most polished or formal, but genuinely humble and welcoming, which made our stay feel personal rather than transactional. The location is about a 20-minute walk from Ortigia, but don't let that put you off — the walk itself is a pleasure, taking you past plenty of great restaurants and shops along the way. The pool was a bit smaller than I expected, but given that you're right in the middle of the city with an amazing view over the archaeological sites, it's easy to overlook. The rooftop bar was a real highlight, with a great selection of cocktails and aperitifs, and the bartenders had exactly the kind of friendly, easygoing energy you'd want from a rooftop bar. As a bonus, the rooftop also has a view of Mount Etna — during our stay, we could actually see the volcano's activity in the distance, which was an unforgettable sight to enjoy with a drink in hand.

High quality room and services located in an area where there are many great restaurants and right in the centre of the historical area of Siracusa. Great service from key people like Umberto at reception and Salve in the restaurant area.

Eleoterio C. Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

My room was excessively warm and I had no way to control the room temperature, as it is controlled by the front desk. In spite of complaining three times about this issue, little was done to bring the room temperature to a comfortable level. The default room temperature was 26.5 degrees Celsius and it felt very uncomfortable. The hotel corridors had a much comfortable temperature, by contrast.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us. We are pleased to read that you appreciated the cleanliness of your room, the quality of our services during check-in and check-out, as well as the professionalism of our team in several aspects of your stay. At the same time, we are very sorry to learn that the room temperature did not meet your expectations and that this affected your overall comfort. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We would like to clarify that all rooms at Mercure Siracusa Prometeo are equipped with an in-room climate control system that allows guests to independently set their preferred temperature via the room control panel. The system is designed to ensure individual comfort and flexibility. In addition, the hotel has recently installed a brand-new, state-of-the-art, high-efficiency climate control system throughout the entire property, designed to guarantee optimal performance in all areas, including guest rooms. We also wish to highlight that, for energy efficiency and safety reasons, the air conditioning system is automatically regulated by sensors linked to the room windows. When a window is open, the system temporarily pauses operation to ensure proper functioning and sustainability. We are very sorry if this was not clearly communicated or if any technical issues occurred during your stay. Had we been made aware of the situation in more detail at the time, our team would have done everything possible to intervene promptly and provide an immediate solution, as guest comfort is always our top priority. Your comments regarding responsiveness have been noted carefully and shared with our management team, as they are essential for improving our service standards. We appreciate your loyalty to the Accor group and regret that this experience did not fully reflect the standards you have come to expect. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with a much more comfortable stay. Kind regards, Maurizio Garofalo General Manager
