Before coming here i read some bad reviews, but had already booked this place for 6 nights....and i didn't regret it a bit also..the staff has been extremely nice especially the concierge...i wish i knew their names... they helped me personally when i needed small cash notes... booked an uber for my safety...as language was quite a challenge...i was basically traveling alone everywhere..the breakfast buffet was super too...

A Disaster Stay with the Worst Duty Manager ever seen

It has been 3 years I havent visited Guangzhou due to Covid19. I used to stay in Sofitel Sunrich due to the convenient location and good service. However, this is now 4 am and this is my 1st ever serious complaint which I need to share right after I enter my room. I have booked a Luxury Room for 3 nights. I originally thought it was a nice start with FO Staff Alyssa's great hospitality. She is polite and nice. I have assigned a room on 27/F which I requested and it's fine. However, I was shocked when I entered the room. Where's my big window? This is totally different from what it was shown on the pic. As such, I went down to FO again to check if they have provided me a wrong room. However, the attitude of their Duty Manager Mr Kevin Liang has put me a shock. He explained it was the same room type and didnt explain further. While he questioned about the window, he didnt explain but just claim that it was the same room type. This is totally unacceptable. What we want is a great view with big windows. Kevin stated all the types are full and they cannot arrange. What they can offer is for an upgrade. What I want is the room I booked but not an upgrade Throughout the whole process, Kevin is in an extremely bad attitude and I doubted his idenity of a Duty Manager in the hotel. Before we accepted the change of our room, we asked to go to the room to have a look. During the process, we never heard of an apologisation, he walked fast and never turn back, just leaving his customers behind. When we enter the room , he is with his hand crossed and ask us "how is the room" (Do note that all lights are off until we asked). And he even wish to turn on his mobile light only for us to see and we have to ask him to switch on the room lights for us to see. Speaking with his guest with hand crossed, not turning on the lights when showing the rooms to his guests until we ask! What a nightmare with this Duty Manager?! Poor you Sofitel, you ruined a stay of your loyalty customer with such attitude from a Duty Manager. We understand the room photos showing on the wesbsite may have a bit difference. However, room picture which is totally different to the room. This is an expectation problem. As our room was changed, what we have pre requested, like the hard pillow, no one has followed up. This is totally unacceptable for being a 5 star luxury hotel.

Bad hotel accord member counter inexistant staff really no have any experience swimming pool asking payment in pool for cap really is hôtel have big probleme for managing accord member is treating same like dog choose another hotel because is not Sofitel!!!accor service need to be remove from is hôtel is affected accord member also I will Go out from is program accord you traveling in Asia accor is not accor is something different !!!!!
