World-class in all aspects and was delighted with my stay here. Special thanks go to Lounge Team, including Ms. Maple, Ms. Winnie, Ms. Serena and Ms. Sherry. I was well-taken care of at breakfast, thanks to Ms. Fay and Mr. Tobin. In terms of housekeeping, Ms. Yoyo is among the best I have observed from around the world. Thank you, Sofitel Guangdong, for such an excellent stay. Mr. Mason, you were fantastic at check-out. The 9 out of 10, rather than 10 out of 10, is due to pool being out of action for renovation. Other than this, all excellent.

An Unforgettable Stay in Guangzhou We had the most wonderful experience during our stay at the Sofitel in Guangzhou. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegance of the hotel, the impeccable level of service, and the genuine warmth and hospitality shown by the staff. The hotel was also ideally located, with convenient access to the nearby retail and shopping areas, making it an excellent choice for both business and leisure. Our visit was particularly special as we were celebrating both our anniversary and my birthday, and the team at the Sofitel went above and beyond to make these occasions truly memorable. We enjoyed an exceptional personalised dining experience at one of the hotel’s fine-dining French restaurants, where the staff had thoughtfully decorated our table for the celebration. Their attention to detail and the genuine care they put into making the evening special made it an experience we will remember for a very long time. As if that were not enough, we later returned to our room to discover a beautiful surprise cake waiting for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful example of the exceptional hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. These personal touches transformed an already excellent hotel experience into something genuinely unforgettable. What will stay with us most, however, is the kindness and generosity of the people we encountered. This was our first visit to China, and we could not have wished for a more positive introduction. Our first impressions of the country will always be coloured by the warmth of the wonderful people we met in Guangzhou and the outstanding hospitality we received at this beautiful five-star hotel. We simply cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did to make our stay and our celebrations so special. Their professionalism, thoughtfulness and genuine desire to make their guests feel welcome are a credit to the hotel. We look forward to returning to the Sofitel on our next business trip to Guangzhou. Without hesitation, it will be our first choice of hotel, and we very much hope to experience the same wonderful hospitality again.

The room looked dated, and the clock/speaker in the room was faulty. I was also surprised that, unlike many other hotels, food and parcel deliveries are not allowed directly to the room and have to be collected from the lobby or lockers. Another inconvenience was that there is no self-service laundry facility available in the hotel. When I asked the staff, I was told that the nearest self-service laundry was located in Foshan, which is extremely inconvenient for hotel guests, especially those staying for several days. We also purchased the breakfast buffet, which was reasonably priced, but unfortunately the service experience was disappointing. While I was waiting in line for an omelette, other guests who appeared to be Western or African were allowed to cut ahead of me, while I was told by the staff to queue again. As an Asian guest, I felt that I was treated differently and unfairly. Regardless of nationality or ethnicity, the same queuing rules should be applied consistently to every guest. Overall, the stay did not meet my expectations. Between the dated room, faulty equipment, lack of convenient delivery and laundry facilities, and the inconsistent service during breakfast, there is definitely room for improvement.

Staff was very attentive, helpful and nice with one person in particular who really made the stay memorable for me. Having worked Front of House and customer service I need to really thank Cici Lin who was at the front counter. I had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. The hotel offers excellent facilities and outstanding service throughout. The gym is one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel—well-equipped, clean, and perfect for both cardio and strength training. I also really enjoyed the swimming pool. The water was crystal clear, and the pool area was peaceful and well maintained, making it a great place to relax. A special thank you to Rickey at the front desk. He was welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful from check-in onwards. His warm attitude and attention to detail made me feel truly valued as a guest and added so much to my overall experience. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Guangzhou and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay.
