The perfect airport hotel

Smashing2 Couples - TripAdvisor review

We stayed here for a night ahead of an early morning flight departing BKK. Hotel is quite large. Cafe, restaurant and bar restaurants on site. Ten minute walk from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport through Level B's underground path. Bed mattress was firm (which is my preference). Lights in the room a bit dim. Bathroom was spacious and shower had good heat and water pressure. Outdoor pool was as nice as any hotel pool in Bangkok. Great place to sit and relax before departing or after arriving in Bangkok. The gym was pretty big and well equipped. We had the breakfast buffet at 5 am before departing. The freshly made food by the cook was great. The standing food around the buffet was room temperature but still okay. Overall better than eating at the airport. Will likely stay here again as the pool area was great and hotel was very convenient to walk to the airport.

I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions. Everything about it is positive. It takes 3-4 minutes by van to get here from the airport pick up area. Check in has always been fast, efficient and simple. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet ..... the beds are quite comfortable and the towels are rich. There is always hot water for a shower. The breakfast buffet is plentiful. The best part of any stay here is the staff ..... reception staff, housekeeping, restaurant staff ...... they are without exception quite warm, welcoming, and eager to please. I highly recommend this hotel for Bangkok flight transfers.

Perfect walking distance location for airport and excellent clean rooms. Most of all we really like the staff throughout the restaurants and reception. In particular the Touchdown Bar is a great hangout, even if just chilling between connections. Bar Managers Tik and Neng are excellent hosts and add a special touch with some exotic cocktails which Neng recommends then makes for you. Top marks P-Neng! We will always consider this hotel and bar an essential part of our frequent travels through Bangkok.

Very convenient, good facilities, great for overnight for connecting flights but expensive

VancTraveller Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

I stayed at the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport mid-January 2023 as I arrived into Bangkok on a late flight around 11:30 pm and my connecting flight was the next day around 1:35 pm. I tried uploading photos together with my review with no success so I will post the review first and upload photos subsequently separately. As advertised, the hotel is very convenient from Suvarnabhumi airport - I put my luggage on a luggage trolley in the baggage claims area, rolled out into the arrivals hall, took the elevator down to the basement level and rolled my trolley all the way to the basement level escalators and elevators to the hotel. Signage along the way was good so finding your way to the hotel should be no problem. It only took 5 minutes or so to get to the hotel. However as I had a lot of luggage on the trolley, I could not negotiate the stairs to get to the escalators to ground level nor the escalators themselves, so I rolled the trolley up several levels of back and forth ramps to the elevators to ground level. Things got a bit more difficult once I reached ground level as there were glass doors from the area the elevators took you to, in order to cross a pathway and into the hotel through another set of glass doors. There was no button to press to open the doors and no staff around to assist so it was a bit of a challenge to open and keep the doors open while I pushed the luggage trolley through, repeated twice for the two sets of glass doors. Once into the hotel lobby, it was only steps to the large front desk area and check in was quick. The front desk is a slightly odd set up as it appears to have four sides with staff on all four sides so it was not clear which side one should approach for check in or check out. No obvious signage either to guide one’s decision. One of the unique features of the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is that you can check out up to 24 hrs after your check in time. As I arrived at the hotel just before midnight, I could have stayed until late evening the next day had my connecting flight been later in the day – a very nice feature to have if your flight is a late one. The hotel lobby area and ground level is very impressive with very high ceilings up to the 5 floors height of the hotel. I was in a room on the 5th floor and had a lovely view of the hotel center courtyard and outdoor pool, which seemed like a very nice, spacious pool area with lots of loungers. The room itself is fairly spacious with a large window beside the bathtub that looks into the room (with blinds that can be shut for privacy). There was a queen bed in the room, a desk with chair and another sofa chair and side table. There is a coffee station by the desk with a coffee machine and hot water kettle. The bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower. The separate shower has large bottles of toiletries affixed to the wall consistent with the green trend against disposable plastics, but confusingly there were also separate little disposable bottle of toiletries on the sink counter. The room décor and furnishings are a bit dated but it was very comfortable for an overnight stay. Room temperature and lights are controlled by a console beside the bed. When I first entered the room, I was surprised to discover an extra roll away bed had been set up inside the room. Fortunately there was a housekeeping staff member working in the hallway just as I entered so I was able to ask him to remove the extra bed. This seemed odd as my booking was clearly for one person and front desk should have known the room had been set up with an extra bed presumably at the request of another guest. Since I did run into staff in the hallway, this turned out only to be a minor 5 minute inconvenience waiting to have the bed removed. One thing I did notice is that sound proofing in the room is not very good and I could hear clearly noises in the hallways as people were moving around and as staff rolled out the cleaning trolleys early the next morning – light sleepers beware. My room rate included breakfast so I went down to the buffet restaurant in the morning for breakfast. Apparently the breakfast buffet is served from 3 am onward so those with an early flight would still be able to have breakfast if they wanted to. There was a lot of seating available so it did not seem crowded in the restaurant. There was a good selection of foods in the buffet – typical Western items like bacon, ham and scrambled eggs but also something a bit different like a breakfast sausage casserole, a Chinese station with a glass steam cabinet with buns and dim sum and several hot items like noodles and rice. There was also a chef on hand to make eggs and omelettes to order. As it is Thailand, of course there was a fruit counter with many different fruits on offer. As I was checking out around 10:30 am and had arrived around midnight the night before, I did not have a chance to go use the gym or pool but from a past stay, I recall the gym was quite large with a lot of different exercise equipment and the changeroom has a sauna and steamroom. On check out I had to deal once again with my three pieces of rolling luggage and the two sets of glass doors and this time, I was without the convenience of a luggage cart. As I struggled with pushing my three pieces of luggage towards the glass doors of the hotel, I did see a staff member a short distance away, had hoped he would realize my predicament and at least help open the doors for me so I could push my luggage through, but no such luck. It would be worthwhile for hotel management to remind front desk staff to be more aware of guests with luggage and try to be more helpful. It did seem odd now on reflection that both on check in late at night and on check out around 10:30 am in the morning, I did not see any doormen or bell desk staff anywhere who presumably would have helped guests with doors and luggage. This is quite different from my general experience at hotels in Bangkok where there always seems to be plenty of staff on hand at the entrance. Overall I enjoyed the convenience of my stay for an overnight connection. The convenience of the hotel cannot be topped. However, I also thought the price of the hotel was very high. I booked my one night stay months in advance and it was still considerably more expensive than 5 star Bangkok city hotels like the Conrad Bangkok so one is really having to pay for the convenience of the airport hotel.

A fabulous way to break up the trip

We had a 22 hour layover from Europe and this was the perfect stopover. A swim in the refreshing pool with a delicious cocktail. Huge room with a super king firm bed and large bathroom with a shower and separate bath. Friendly staff, great little coffee shop with much better coffee than we found in Switzerland. Airport shuttle was fantastic made it so easy. Would definitely stay again
