Was looking forward to this stay as had heard many good things. Booked a Junior Suite which is better described as a suite to be honest. It has a bedroom with a closing door, large living space including a dining table. Two Juliet balconies gave way to a commanding view across town and to the mountains. Colour scheme was muted in shades of grey and beige which is pretty much the standard. Bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable. Found the aircon didn’t seem to cool the bedroom as much as the other room (oh the humanity). A very large bathroom including a spa bath and television in built. Decent amenities and towels. Our room came with Club Lounge access. The hotel does not have a separate lounge per se but guests are invited to the bar where they have access to a menu with various culinary treats and a decent list of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks available. The martini is a winner and a special thanks to Federico for looking after us. It is a very nice space with a real French club feel. Breakfast is served in the breakfast space and the staff here were very friendly and helpful. A very decent a la carte menu complemented with a small buffet. The range of croissant is worth a special mention. We had a small hiccough with one of the staff around the booking of the use of the in-house hammam. I was sure it had been booked but was categorically told otherwise. This was raised with management who were kind enough to listen to my complaint. A very premium hotel in a great location.

The first room we were assigned didn’t have working AC and they didn’t tell us, only a sign covering the AC. We had an early morning so didn’t worry about switching rooms till the next day. Much nicer experience in a room with working AC in the summertime.

Everyone at the hotel was wonderful and made my birthday very memorable, they were very personable and remembered me every time they saw me. Even got some special treats which felt over and above! It was an incredibly comfortable hotel room and I had everything I could have needed

All staff were friendly and helpful. Great central location. Comfortable beds and very roomy. Room 501 could be a little bit noisy at times, due to the room being next to the main walkway/street up to the gondola. TV had no reception for the duration of the stay which we didn’t mind, but others may.

Bonjour / Kia Ora Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for rating your stay with us an 8.0. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed our central Queenstown location, found our team friendly and helpful, and appreciated the spacious room and comfortable beds — that’s wonderful to know. We do apologise for the noise experienced in Room 501 due to its proximity to the main walkway and for the television reception issue during your stay. While we’re glad this did not significantly impact your experience, your comments are important and have been shared with our team to review soundproofing considerations and address the TV reception fault. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We truly appreciate it and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Queenstown, perhaps in a quieter room, for an even more comfortable stay. Kind Regards, Pradnya Lohate Front Office Manager Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa
