Was looking forward to this stay as had heard many good things. Booked a Junior Suite which is better described as a suite to be honest. It has a bedroom with a closing door, large living space including a dining table. Two Juliet balconies gave way to a commanding view across town and to the mountains. Colour scheme was muted in shades of grey and beige which is pretty much the standard. Bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable. Found the aircon didn’t seem to cool the bedroom as much as the other room (oh the humanity). A very large bathroom including a spa bath and television in built. Decent amenities and towels. Our room came with Club Lounge access. The hotel does not have a separate lounge per se but guests are invited to the bar where they have access to a menu with various culinary treats and a decent list of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks available. The martini is a winner and a special thanks to Federico for looking after us. It is a very nice space with a real French club feel. Breakfast is served in the breakfast space and the staff here were very friendly and helpful. A very decent a la carte menu complemented with a small buffet. The range of croissant is worth a special mention. We had a small hiccough with one of the staff around the booking of the use of the in-house hammam. I was sure it had been booked but was categorically told otherwise. This was raised with management who were kind enough to listen to my complaint. A very premium hotel in a great location.

As a repeat guest I have seen the hotel over the years since 2010. It is really starting to show its age. The details in room maintenance really highlights this and ultimately let it down. For the price you’d expect the thoughtful touches to be there and everything to be in top working order but that wasn’t the case. I understand some road noise as the location is so central but from the room we stayed in there is a constant 24/7 beeping noise coming from the pedestrian crossing and it is rather annoying - particularly in the dead of night. The staff were all lovely and friendly but the room experience really let us down. I’m not sure I’d return on my next trip to Queenstown and that makes me feel a bit sad as it’s been my favourite place to stay and recommend for over 15 years.

As a Platinum member and I have been to lots of Sofitels before I had to wait till 4 pm for check in. Room was hardly cleaned and overtime we ask for something it took a long time to come especially water at the end had to grab some from the cleaners. On top of that I never received my rewards points. Thanks Arnold

We enjoyed our stay very much. Our only issue was your policy of non-efundable. We had a family issue with illness delaying our departurfe by 2 days and then airline issue, mechanical, and missed another day. we had paid for 4 nights, but unfortunately could only use one. We initaiilly planned to be there 8 thru 12th, but couldn't get to Queenstown until the 11th.

Bonjour / Kia Ora Paul, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and found our hotel “top notch.” We completely understand how frustrating travel disruptions, illness, and airline issues can be, especially when plans don’t go as expected. We genuinely wish circumstances had allowed you to enjoy your full booking. Regarding the non-refundable rate, during our busy holiday season, these rates help us manage high demand and secure accommodation for all our guests. We do appreciate that this can be disappointing when unexpected events occur, and we sincerely empathize with your situation. We hope that despite these challenges, you were able to enjoy your time in Queenstown, and we would be delighted to welcome you back under smoother circumstances in the future.
