Too many frustrations

Let's start with a positive or two. The location is good and the breakfast is excellent. Sadly, other aspects of my stay were frustrating. Only one of the two lifts was working. This didn't affect me much, except on my departure, when it cost me four minutes. There was a bath with a shower over it, but the step in/out was so high, with so little to grab, that I couldn't use it. I.checked in online in advance on the promise of being able to check out by simply handing in my key. This was a lie! I needed to pay a city tax, which could have been collected when I arrived, and we spent five minutes arguing about whether I should pay again for the breakfasts I had bought in advance. They did eventually concede that I had already paid. I nearly missed my train.

Haven't stayed here a while, often did before, always liked it. Now- less well managed, dirtier, less friendly, and BEDBUGS. Sorry. This particular hotel was a frequent visit before, but not again. Well, you did ask.

Booking Mercure, you are usually expecting great service during your stay. This hotel wasnt an exception. Everything, started from fast and problemlos check in to excellent and tasty breakfast was perfect. The staff at Reception was very polite, pleasant and willing to help. I felt very comfortable during my stay. Next time will definetely come again!
