My wife and I had flown in from Melbourne and stayed at Novotel. It is very centrally located in Queenstown, very near downtown and lots of shops, and yet, it did seem like it was in a relatively quiet area of town. It took about 5 minutes to get to the heart of shopping centers, restaurants, and cruise ships. Room seemed so nice and clean. Not that we used it, but we were surprised that there was a bathtub - first one after 15 days in Australia! And ... a first for us: Heated towel rack! Oooh, on a cold day or after a shower, it feels so good against the skin! One item that is missing are electrical outlets near the beds - they're across the room! Why doesn't a hotel place electrical outlets by each bedside? Another problem: if you are using an electrical converter, many of the outlets are very close to the "On/Off" button, so if you push the converter too high and/or high, it's turned off! You'd think that the "On/Off" button would be positioned higher so the electrical converter would affect it, Breakfast was about 'normal' for hotel - nothing unusual or outstanding. Service people were very friendly and helpful.

Rude receptionist, couldn’t check into the room even after 2pm, and room was noisy can hear the sound from streets; breakfasts is average, try avoid and there are lots cafes nearby, not worth the value.

We enjoyed our time at Novotel in Queenstown. The location is ideal with providing a quiet atmosphere and close location to the center of all the happenings. Everyone we experienced was lovely and so kind and provided great advice for our stay, as well as a complimentary dessert tray to help us celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The only hiccup was the part to the hair dryer didn't fit the hairdryer provided and the hairdryer died after one minute of use.
