The location was absolutely perfect! Within walking distance of all activities, pier and lakeside. The staff we encountered were extremely friendly and responsive. Rooms were modern and clean, and made great use of the spa and gym. I would definitely stay again!

The hotel is located within easy walk of the Queenstown CBD and close to some fabulous walks. All the staff were friendly and ensured the stay was pleasant. One of our group had a birthday on the day of arrival and the staff surprised with some complimentary drinks.

The Novotel is possibly the best location to enjoy Central Queenstown from by foot. No need for a car or taxi here; across from the front doors are the access lanes that take you right to the heart of the town and it's many restaurants, bars and shops. The beach is adjacent the hotel and the waterfront maybe all of 50 metres away! You will not be disappointed. The rooms are not luxurious but they are perfectly suitable to the average traveller who does not need to find a place to stash their diamond tiaras! In other worsds they are contemporary, clean and comfortable.

Perfect location on the lake. Enjoyed drinks overlooking the rose garden protected from the wind by the large glass walls. Comfortable spacious room with only two niggles - inadequate reading lights on only one side of each bed and no hand-held shower.

Lack of customer support on arrival. Queenstown trying to encourage people , but too expensive. Have been no or little drop in prices. (Have used them for business over past year.) Have a vehicle with wedding gifts etc , that needed to be left in vehicle (ute) due to amount. Told car must stay in the street or pay valet fee of $25 and it will be secure. Pay for a room, pay for valet service, which should be included (as parking should be provided) and then find out vehicle left outside all night. It feels that you are still dealing with international tourists rather than working with domestic travellers, trying to support tourist towns, at the request of business owners.

Kia Ora Roy, Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Queenstown Lakeside and I 'm sorry that you did not have a good experience with us. It's disappointing to learn that you weren't made to feel welcome on arrival. I understand that being asked to pay for parking especially when you weren't expecting to didn't make the welcome process any easier. With regards to your comments around there being little or no drop in pricing, the Queenstown hotel market in February saw a decline in occupancy of almost 70% and decline in room rates of around 55%. Novotel was no exception to this and our room rates have decreased significantly to reflect the current environment. We know price point is sensitive and we try to remain competitive with the hotels around us. I did search for previous stays with us under your name as you mentioned you have stayed with us before but I couldn't find any previous reservations with us in the past year under your name. I wanted to check how you were booking to ensure you were getting the best possible rate. Thanks again for taking the time to leave us your feedback and comments and I'm sorry that you did not see value vs. price paid. I do share these comments with the team as we strive to provide higher guest satisfaction. Should you wish to give us another chance to better accommodate you I would be happy to help you with your booking directly and ensure you are well look after by the team. Thanks for your comments around the bathrooms and I apologise that you didn't find them suitable. We do have two different styles of bathrooms, the ones on the fourth floor are more modern as the fourth floor was added retrospectively after the initial build. We do try to use these rooms when occupancies allow as we know guests prefer the more modern bathrooms. It is something that we have highlighted to our owners and they do see the value in it so I hope it's something we can get across the line.
