A beautiful resort, however an experience spoilt by a very unpleasant interaction with a member of reception staff. Lack of towels, slow service, ant infestation and leaking air conditioning which is considered hazardous- not the experience we expected at a 5 star resort and not what we’re used to. No regard for food allergies - I was served cheese twice even after specifically asking for it to be left out of my meal.

Having stayed at multiple 5 star hotels around the world, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Reception is like a scene out of Faulty Towers - rooms are certainly not luxurious, food is very basic, pools are not heated. Having checked out of the Fairmont Taghazout prior to staying here, the two hotels are not comparable in anyway. The Sofitel is commanding a price tag that does not behold the standard of service, rooms or food quality on offer. I would rate the hotel a basic standard 4 star.

Good food, phantastic garden architecture, clean, IFTA dinners in the marcet excellent idea - authentic for Morocco; Very good music in the restaurants, sometimes to loud/ noisy during dinner, it's background music! Nevertheless excellent artists! Not so good: ...beach not clean, bad maintenance, diappointing for the agadir beach, partly messy no more sand beach but full of stones...city of agadir do not make a good job! ...staffs and food in the beach restaurant " not always good"

We expected a 5* resort. Using international 5* standards. The resort hotel and grounds are well presented and the hotel rooms/suites fairly well maintained. The food was without exception excellent. But, the overall service in all areas of the resort is inconsistent. Supervisors and managers are visible but clearly ineffectual. Some staff go above and beyond to provide the expected service - notably Mustafa in housekeeping, Amazouz in pool bar, Badr and Hicham in Le Market. A 5* establishment should have seamless consistent service throughout, with any issues promptly and effectively addressed. Arrival - we checked in online 24 hours + prior to arrival, confirming our arrival window, with agreement for non feather bedding. Suite wasn't ready, we were directed to Le Market - closed. We wanted to rest in the shade and have a drink - may as well have well have asked for the moon. We finally found help and Amazouz helped us. The 'manager' of the pool bar was surly, not interested in assisting guests start their trip well, thank goodness his staff do not have the same poor attitude. Housekeeping - bins not emptied for us arriving, non feather bedding ignored the mattress topper (for allergy reasons this is serious), sometimes towels and pods were replenished, other times not. Pool service - no supply of towels for guests to access, and no clean towels available without a long (30 mins +) wait if one arrived at the pool after 11 am. Some waiters (see above) went above and beyond to assist, others strolled about without a care in the world. Le Market - breakfast - hit and miss as to if one got an order taken for drinks, or plates cleared. Each dish in a buffet should have its own serving tongs / spoons to limit cross contamination. There was at best 1 between 4 dishes. Le Market - dinner - the same lack of serving utensils applied at dinner. I asked the hostess to provide me with an additional set - she took the one set and washed them! An appalling representation of the lack of attention to detail which is a pre requisite for a true world standard 5*. Le Plage - service was more consistent - a relief.
